But, that doesn't preclude them from doing actual journalism, sure the examples are less and less as compared to the amount of content they generate, but they do still exist. Quality investigative journalism is expensive, and long form journalism that is the result of that is on the wane, yet still every now and then it rears it's ugly head and gasps for breath.

This whole idea that because it's mainstream media it can simply be dismissed is as dumb as dogshit. Like the alternative is some kind of pure as driven snow shit, whilst it tells you how it is the one sure source of the truth.

Give me a f**king break, it's just as much about money as the next guy, and just as much not.

getting "taken down" has literally nothing to do with guilt or innocence ...... I've done absolutely nothing to defend the merkin, yet you've gone off half cocked ..... it is entirely possible he is not the only merkin involved in all of this

Well ok, but it’s not about justice or the merkins would have done the right thing by the alleged victims and contacted the authorities.

Once you forgo legal process all bets are off and Rupert and co are judge, jury and executioner.

I don’t agree with, and take a negative view on, anyone that will go to the media and report a crime PRIOR to going to the police, especially when that crime is rape. If you are going to go to the media and not the police you should be forced to show your face and name - as there is no burden of proof thru the media - you shouldn’t be able to remain nameless and faceless whilst destroying or tarnishing anybody for life.
