Does anyone else feel really patriotic/slightly allured when several boomers in a newsagency in a row line up to buy The Daily Telegraph?

What do you know, labor "dog whistling" like PC Man accuses liberal of doing, but in the end just another lie about the cut in immigration. Absolutely gone whenever the election is called.

"Anthony Albanese's vow to halve immigration during this financial year is looking shaky - and could see Labor accused of breaking an election promise.

Just three months ago, the Prime Minister promised Australia's net overseas intake would be slashed to just 250,000 in 2024-25.

This was after a record 547,300 foreigners moved to Australia in 2023, the most ever for a calendar year, as 27,000 New Zealanders relocated to Australia.

Australia's immigration intake is hardly slowing down with analysis showing every Australian was now more than $7,800 worse off each year, largely due to the housing crisis."

That's just the one broken promise of which there are significant others. Imagine being on Newstart with just this broken promise alone, almost 8k worse off a year just on this. I have noticed more tent cities and rough sleepers in towns where they weren't noticeable before. That's almost half your annual money in addition to what someone on Newstart had to pay in a private market so understandable. Really sad read.

"In the year to May, 482,450 migrants moved to Australia, calling into question Treasury's May Budget forecast of 260,000 arrivals during this financial year."

To be fair, even if true to his word it would be too late and not enough to meet available housing stocks. Too much damage done, a pause is required entirely.

"The new findings show 66 per cent of voters believe last year's migration intake was too high, while 23 per cent thought it was “about right”

Disappointing all sides of politics.

This is a real press release, probably co-authored by all of the Democrat's most prominent suspects (cacklers). I think they assume zoomer memory is on an hourly basis, let's hope they don't google who the current sitting President has been and still is.

Imagine this being something that entertains you.

Gladys - remember her? - officially fails in her bid to appeal ICAC's findings of corrupt behaviours against her, with all 13 grounds of review rejected.

ICAC's findings that she "engaged in serious corrupt conduct between 2016 and 2018 by participating in decisions to make multimillion-dollar government grants to two projects in the then-Wagga Wagga Liberal MP Daryl Maguire’s electorate, without disclosing the pair were in a close personal relationship" still stand.

Suck it, and f**k off again Gladys.

This culture wars shit is fairly low grade stuff. It would be nice if we could have sensible conversation about politics.
