Demonstrably false. I was asked to run for Council by a party circa the year 2000. (I declined.)

I had friends and acquaintances run for Council - aligned with various parties - around the same time.
I stand corrected ... dickheads have been getting dickheads to align along party lines for decades.

Well ive only seen them actively promoting themselves for a political party more recently. Plenty of heads on on red and blue posters around now. Im sure most always had party preferences, but to me it seems more of a strategy now.

Even though one bunch were daft enough to forget to put in their nomination forms - something that's been required for decades even for "independent" candidates.

Our council has 4 wards and each ward has by and large a lib, labor and greens councillor. Whilst they wear blue, red or green colours, you wouldn’t know as they all work for the same cause and genuinely represent their constituents.

None seem to have opposed views and they all work in a bipartisan manner. I know that because I participate in a quarterly zoom where they talk about large development updates, neighbourhood watch stuff from the cops, trees, etc. They are all decent people.

That can’t be said for this SkyNews wannabe who seems to want his name in the paper as often possible. People who live in Cumberland Council should run him and his culture wars out of town. Shit like this has no place in our neighbourhoods.
