Whenever a politician cites a “lived experience” it’s usually going to be shonky.

Thus the appeal from the transport minister about being a busy mum and all of that. Trying to create a connection with and elicit sympathy from a class of people.

And that was used to partially explain her pressing need and the ethical justication to get a driver for 13 hours to pick up her friends for a slap up meal and 3 hours on the booze.

I think it was insulting to lot of hard working mums, checking out the bowser prices, waiting for food to go on special at coles to chuck into the freezer.

I would like to think it would never happen, I think there is a difference in intelligence between Aussies and the Septics as well as the fact that we have a different voting system.

There are still quiet a lot of Aussies who base their vote on which team they support rather than vote on their local issues, so I think there is some similarity.

There are plenty of dumb Aussies, the US is just more in your face with them is all, but yeah agree it's the voting system that makes the difference.

Everyone having to vote means you don't need the extremes to get out your base, but you do have to capture the centre to win.
