Western Sydney residents are being treated not as well. Unsure if it's due to many being immigrants and nobody caring?

As a Westy all my life we know we aren't treated as well as the latte sippers in the eastern suburbs. But we are westies, we just suck it up and get on with it.

But the real problem comes down to planning, with all the new suburbs that sprung up in the last 15 years I have not heard of a new hospital out west. Rouse Hill is still on the drawing board yet more houses and more suburbs are being built.

I know for a fact that when you drive around Sydney, Central Coast or Newcastle or the Gong there are ALWAYS cranes building new shit at hospitals.

I was at Blacktown Hospital not too long ago visiting a sick westie and it's a hospital city. I can say the same thing about Liverpool Hospital. I can only imagine what Westmead looks like these days. Gosford Hospital is huge now. RNS has doubled in size. FMD Randwick Hospital has grown so much that NSW Uni campus and the Children's Hospital now touch.

Successive governments (labor and libs) have been tipping billions and billions into our health system. To suggest flippantly that they are ignoring growth areas - I call BS. Like to see the real evidence.

Also wonder if some of those legacy hospitals further east have more specialised units. I know that RNS is the specialised spinal unit for the entire state - I assume Westmead, Randwick and RPA would also have their own specialities

They aren't that specialised. I was admitted there in 2000 due to a horrific car accident. After many X-Rays , CT and MRI scans I was diagnosed with 1 broken rib, a lacerated liver and a lumbar sacral pneumothorax. (Collapsed lung).
I was discharged after 10 days. It soon became apparent to me that there was more to it than that. After some actual specialised diagnosis it was found that they missed 3 more broken ribs, 3 transverse process fractures to the lower spine and 2 wedge fractures to the upper spine. Amateur hour.
The chest drain insertion with zero anesthesia was a moment I'll not forget any time soon.

OK so what's your beef ? The article paints a picture of disaster for the west. I call BS on that.

Old mate with his arms folded is having a whinge about wait times for elective surgery in Western Sydney Hospitals. They are not much different across the metro area.

Hospital Performance

The article shows that the NSW Gov is pumping cash into the SW and NW corridors where the population is booming.

The Telecrap is calling the West as a Boom Region and suggesting it is being ignored. BS. The Boom regions of Sydney are Hawkesbury / Nepean / Riverstone / Greater Macarthur / Leppington / Oran Park and that's were all the cash is going.
