If there was a conflict, it would be the same thing.
I think the inference is that if you were going to spend $363B on defence, it would be better spent on gear that would best defend your country. Since we signed the deal, the US have been cranky that supplying us with Virginia Class subs will disrupt the upscaling of their fleet and they could actually leave us hanging.

So there is a school of thought that we can the deal and order more gear that suits our shores (virginia is actually too big at times).

Elon gives it his all but comes up short of the result.

People may have stopped listening, and his time of influence on the US population might soon be reaching an end.

I think the biggest issue, besides late delivery etc, we'll have is crewing these vessels. Collins class has a crew of 42 whereas the Virginias have around 135. For the $$$s you'd want to have them in the water 24/7, something we can't even do with the Collins class.

The defense forces currently number around 57,000 (14k air force, 14k navy and 29k army). All three have major issues attracting new recruits.

Imo I'd much prefer a strong deterrent than a strong defense.

I'd rather spend far less setting up military bases along our northern and eastern coasts with the correct military infrastructure to deter or repel an attack. No one is going to attack the west or north west.
Load them with shit loads of Himars or similar long distant defensive (and attacking) missiles capable of repelling and attacking air or sea attacks.
Submarines will do f**k all defending our country. They are $400+ billion worth of defense expenditure down the drain.

(Mark) Geier and his son David Geier are frequently cited by proponents of the discredited claimthat vaccines cause autism. Geier's credibility as an expert witness has been questioned in 10 court cases.[5] In 2003, a judge ruled that Geier presented himself as an expert witness in "areas for which he has no training, expertise and experience."[2] In other cases in which Geier has testified, judges have labeled his testimony "intellectually dishonest", "not reliable" and "wholly unqualified".[2] Another judge wrote that Geier "may be clever, but he is not credible."[6]

There was time when thalidomide didn't cause birth defects either. Radium was totally safe to have young women painting it on clock and watch faces and hands.
No one who has an Autistic child would ever want to believe that a vax created it because that would make them partly complicit. Best we just keep our heads in the sand.

Oh dear. Which vax specifically "creates" autism? And is there any published peer-reviewed research supporting that conclusion?

Oh dear, please quote the whole post.
I don't know. The point is that from the 2 examples I listed (and there's many more) that there was no published peer reviewed research supporting those conclusions until there actually was, despite the coincidental and circumstantial evidence to the contrary prior to those facts becoming available.
That's how these f**ks operate. They never get fined anything close to the money made from it so who gives a shit?
