This one hits home a bit for me, a major influence. Roy Loney of The Flamin Groovies.
https://livemusicblog.com/news/roy-loney-flamin-groovies-passed-away-r-i-p/
I've played plenty of his songs over the years, when I was playing with Johnny Casino he even wrote a song about him. I'll put that up in a bit but heres a classic

Very sad, and the years that Roy Loney fronted the band were my favourite period of the Flamin Groovies. I also enjoyed his work in The Phantom Movers.

Roy continued to tour Spain up until recently. All my mates there were great friends with him. They are really hurting
I feel for your Spanish friends. But did he ever visit Australia ? I saw 2 different line ups of the Flamin Groovies here, but never with Roy. I read Roy had fallen ill just before a planned Flamin Groovies visit to the UK in June.

One of my best mates older brother is a journo..
Gil Taylor on Macquarie sports etc
You’d know his voice without even knowing it.
That is not his real name though.
Massive music nut.

when we were kids he used to make us mixed tapes with the flamin groovies on them.
14 years old on road trips to Port Macquarie with his parents listening to the same 2 cassettes over and over.
Screaming tribesmen were on that those tapes too.
Blind mice??

shake some action ?
Was that a groovies song?

Shake Some Action is a Groovies song but Roy had left by then. They had a second incarnation and wrote that song.

Elvis?

Not confirmed tho

Actually this is what happened.

Some idjet on Facey posted up that Elly May Clampett had fallen off the perch so I thought all the old deviates in here would be extremely upset at such devastating nooze and started to share the bad tidings with my fellow quigs's'

But after linking the report as one should I noted that the year involved was 2015 and now well and truly out of date so hence, post removist prontos.

Still reckon some are mourning Ellys passing.

Just saw this in the NRL forum
Mark Harris, I'll just post what I did in there

One of my earliest memories of rugby league was Mark Harris throwing a gridiron style pass after a stint over In the Canadian football league .
RIP big fella

He had a busted nose that looked like he had headbutted and oncoming bus, but he was a hard fast bastard to tackle I remember that. Big bloody centre running off John Brass passes. What could possibly go wrong. Ask the Stinking Stains, what was it the 74 GF.

Things you remember. He had a T Shirt Business. His Whites were OK but as for the blues.

RIP Mark Harris.
