I have the native app on a 4th generation Apple TV...works perfectly.
LOL they didn't want it, well they didn't want it at the price Rugby asked.News Ltd missed out. So they act like they didn’t want it anyway.
Well of course you would only be posting your unbiased opinion. It’s not like you to sledge rugby.LOL they didn't want it, well they didn't want it at the price Rugby asked.
This could be the final nail in RU's coffin.
Sledge Rugby???? Just stating a few home truths that you can't accept. And of course evil News must be lying lol. Why would Fox offer more than they are paying now when the ratings are in free fall??? A NRLW 9's game absolutely smashed a Super Rugby match at the same time. Fox are trying to slash costs and see Rugby as the most unprofitable sport they show, it doesn't take a Fanbase to figure something has to give.Well of course you would only be posting your unbiased opinion. It’s not like you to sledge rugby.
Anyhoo, News Ltd have got form by going public with false reports during and after negotiations. Considering Rugby Australia or Optus are yet to announce anything it’s quite possible that Fox still have another offer up their sleeve.
What is interesting is how the streaming landscape is changing. I know plenty of merkins who only have foxtel or Kayo because of rugby and they are looking forward to the potential of having EPL and Rugby to view on the Optus Sport app.
facts are
LOL have a look at RU's ratings and then get back to me.* I am guessing bc I really have no idea, but I can’t back down now !
LOL have a look at RU's ratings and then get back to me.
Quality reply by the way, a gif has to be on the way soon............
Yep, Optus are going to break the bank for a sport that rates as well as the test pattern. Especially as it will cost them a truck load to produce unlike the EPL which they just have to slap the Optus Logo on.mate as usual you are posting via a lens of bias. You are saying that News doesn’t want the content or only wants it at a reduced price. What you don’t know is if Optus are making a move to expand their streaming presence. They certainly have form in this area by out bidding others for the soccer. Who knows, they may well be getting the cheque book out when it comes to the NRL, to break up the Ch9 / Telstra marriage.
I’ll give you an irrefutable fact, you have NFI like me.
Why would Fox offer more than they are paying now when the ratings are in free fall
We all know News are merkins of the highest order but RU hasn’t got much to offer really. The old Toyota Cup used to flog it in the ratings and their ratings are just getting worse. It doesn't say they offered more and Fox are struggling in Oz, so is RA.
It sux how they made their offer public and refused to sign RAs non disclosure agreement, thats a pretty low act and a merkin of a way to do business but that's the Murdoc way.

Optus is favoured to become the new home of rugby, but the final deal could be disastrous for the code if the telco low-balls Rugby Australia as expected.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal that three weeks after putting their broadcast package to the open market, RA has not had a single offer.
The lack of formal interest has forced them to extend their period for offers for another week.
Initially, all contract questions were to cease by next Wednesday, after which prospective buyers would have to table offers. Late on Thursday, it was confirmed this would be pushed back another week.
Current broadcast partners Fox Sports have not signed RA’s nondisclosure agreements and will not, leaving Optus as the lone digital option, despite Qatari network BeIN Sports and streaming service DAZN floating interest.
It can also be revealed that Optus has begun talks with production companies, who they will need to film and package Super Rugby, club rugby and women’s rugby games, given they do not have the capabilities to do this in-house.
It’s estimated that these production costs will be around $10 million a year, and Optus will fold this into their offer to RA.
Knowing Fox Sports is no longer in the mix, having already had a $40 million-a-year offer rejected by RA late last year, insiders expect Optus to come in with a dramatically lower figure given the lack of options.
Not like you to use hyperbole in your argument.Yep, Optus are going to break the bank for a sport that rates as well as the test pattern. Especially as it will cost them a truck load to produce unlike the EPL which they just have to slap the Optus Logo on.
I’m sure RU is going to get Optus millions of new subscribers. You don’t think Fox have weighed up the cost of having RU and not having RU to their subscriber base???
Getting the chequebook out for RL makes just a little more sense, you know a sport that is actually popular and rates it’s tits off.
If Optus offer more than Fox did they are absolutely bonkers. Not like you to use hyperbole in your argument.
Nobody said that Optus was going to break the bank to get the RU streaming rights.
The streaming market is a fast moving business model and Optus would be foolish not to seek growth. I am sure that Kayo has taken some of their market share since they started. Hence why they are bidding for the RU. The amount they pay for it is not only determined by the market. Someone like optus may be willing to pay more than News bc they need it to maintain growth and challenge their streaming rivals.
If Optus offer more than Fox did they are absolutely bonkers.
I think you are being a little simplistic in the way that Singtel and News Ltd look at their global businesses. If Optus offer more than Fox did they are absolutely bonkers.
If Optus offer more than Fox I will appear naked in the middle of the ground at half time in the 2020 GF
But RU is a failing sport, lack of market tension just proves how on the nose the sport is in this country.I think you are being a little simplistic in the way that Singtel and News Ltd look at their global businesses.
Well only one thing is guaranteed, if News miss out they will write BS about a failing sport and LOL at optus. Even though they are secretly pissed that they couldn't keep it.
Remember that Foxtel are cutting their staff and cutting in house produced shows because they are bleeding cash. They lost $306m last financial year.
