saints seem to have fairly decent following north of the Tweed

If they could some how make moving conditional upon Mary's retirement, I reckon a lot of their fans would go for it.

I hate Manly but I don't want them gone. It will not only be a loss of fans but it will also set a dangerous precedent post-super league. With Bankwest not being a Parra-only homeground anymore, even we could be on the chopping block if things turn into an american-style system.

Plus how can a tv channel ask for a club to be chopped? That's just weird.

People on the northern beaches are more interested in the Warringah rats vs Manly Marlins in the union. There isn't a reason for us to be chopped just like there isn't currently a reason to get rid of: canterbury, penrith, wests, south's, st. George Illawarra.

The article was probably sensationalised. Channel 9 probably said that they'd pay more money if there was another team other than Sydney.

Oddly so do manly, that's why they've taken a game up there last year.

I'm amazed at the amount of Eels fans that there are in Brisbane, there was blue and gold all over Suncorp on Friday night and in the Casino there were 3 Eels jerseys to 1 Broncos jersey all night

So you think we should be relocated?

That could also just mean we are 3 times more likely to have a gambling problem.

or the Broncos fans went home after the game and the Eels fans were in town for the night, still it was good to see the blue and gold out in numbers

Yeah, I wet to suncorp a coupla years ago and there was a fairly healthy Eels contingent there.

Agree. Moving them somewhere else won't work. The two heads in Brisbane will want their own team and even then I think most of them are already welded on to the Broncos.
There's heaps of merkins in Brisbane who hate the Broncos. This will be their second team, and eventually their kids' first team.

That was exactly what the Titans were hoping for. I remember an interview with the first CEO where he made that exact comment. It hasn't worked out.

That’s not entirely accurate. The absolute max crowd a Marlins vs Rats game has attracted is around the 10,000 mark, and that figure was exaggerated. The Sea Eagles are far and away the most supported club on the Beaches and consistently eclipse the local derby games in the rah rahs.

I remember pissing of teams in the super league war, that worked out so well. We were the number 1 code in Australia and we have never really recovered since. If a team falls over so be it but relocation just won’t work.
