Telstra is a rip off for their Internet. Nbn could be good if they look at those ridiculous prices they have for the plans. Not worth paying more than double adsl 2+ to get slightly faster net with less download limits.

Quigs do you honestly think it is ok that the Rest of Australia funds your internet speed because of your choice to live so far away from services that are only possible cheaply, through economies of scale? if the answer is yes, I don't know why anybody bothers working up your way. May as well just get the rest of Australia to fund the lifestyles.

Yeah right again. Got me a beauty Honourable Reefy Son. A third of this quiet little nowhere is made up of miners and their families. You know the type of bludgers..... 7 on 7 off, work 8 or so hours drive west of the coast, or there are those that are involved in the massive expansion work just a short drive south to Gladstone.

But times are getting hard up here too We have had 14 people in this small coastal town laid off from work thanks to Can't Do Newman. The ones laid off worked in the Main Roads, Disability Services and Health related industries.. ... just bludgers, you know the type.

Re the NBN I hope that it gets laid out right across the entire continent. The internet is our oyster. I hope within a few years to walk into the new multi purpose (cyclone strength) school hall and watch the kids hooked up and chatting live to classes in asia. Imagine watching the kids chatting and learning instantly from cultures only you and I found out about through the Encyclopedia Britannia or the National Geographic.

Kids in the Emu Park State School chatting to astronauts in the orbiting international space station.

I can walk into my local doctor and get linked to a specialist in Brisbane to treat me for my haemorroides and arthritic knees.

There is no need to be selfish about knowledge and health Honourable Reefy Son, living in the greatest country on the planet, the lucky country it will be brilliant... don't you share the vision.

So you do think its ok that I subsidise your internet. Well at least you are honest about it. Most lefties dont give a f**k who they ripp off, look at your friends in the union the dispicible cuties.

So there you have it DJshack. That is where your internet discount goes to. For the $40 per month you save by living in an expensive city area with tolls, higher rates, higher living expenses, higher car costs etc, relax comfortably in the knowledge that your taxes are going to a good cause. Interent as fast as you, for people like quigs who decided living in the populations centres is too hard for them & want to live a semi retired life, all their life & also funding the ABC group of leftie pharkwitts who will ram down our tax paying mouths lies about man made climate change & gay marriage & how important they are to Australian society.

I just wonder how lefties would cope if it there wasnt right wing entrepreneurs around to fund their lifestyles.

its gone ,done & dusted. Thanks to unions, double dipping on resource rent tax & the carbon tax. it is much cheaper to get the product from elesewhere. I am sure the effect of the unions will be highlighted in the coalition advertising.

It was about this time 40 years ago that Mike Willessie said “we have been authorised by the ABC head of news services to report that the Government has been defeated and Gough Whitlam will form the next government”

Bingo. She can lie all she wants to the press. She won't even answer if she was actually there when she witnessed the signing of the document in Perth cause she knows she can't lie to parliament.

Ads, Surely and Honourable Reefy Son.

Slush Funds and Liars... its all about slush funds and liars.

Liar Liar pants on fire....

??misleading the ABC is not quite the same as misleading the Parliament as a political crime?.

---------------------

My mouth fell open when I heard Abbott?s final flourish in Thursday?s speech denouncing Gillard as unfit for office. I remembered, suddenly, vividly, Tony Abbott?s very own slush fund. Could he too have forgotten?

It?s ancient history now, Abbott?s slush fund ― but less ancient than the slush fund now in the news. And there?s many unanswered questions about it, and him.

In 1998, Abbott privately agreed to bankroll Terry Sharples, a disaffected One Nation member, to take legal action against Pauline Hanson.

Less than 2 weeks later, he categorically denied to the ABC that he had done so, and 18 months later he repeated the lie, this time to the Sydney Morning Herald?s Deborah Snow. But when she
confronted him with his signed personal guarantee, he said that
:

??misleading the ABC is not quite the same as misleading the Parliament as a political crime?.

He then created a slush fund he called Australians for Honest Politics and raised $100,000 for it from 12 people he declined to name. The fund began bankrolling more court actions against Hanson and her party.

---------------------------

Slush Funds and Liars... its all about slush funds and liars.

Liar Liar pants on fire....WATCH THIS SPACE... It is unfolding as we speak (or read)

Gillard is the worst prime minister this great country has ever seen-- Does she even know what the truth is.
Abbott is the worst opposition leader, can he just do his job and leave all of the kids behavior at home

What was ilegal about what Abbott did Quigs? Was he stealing money away from unsuspecting people to fund his own lifestyle? or was he accepting donations to fund a battle to bring about the demise of a germ of a woman & a political party?

You are mistaking one very important thing. The economy is a mess. The building trade is still at a standstill. The very real concern of the mining industry abandoning expansion plans means more tradies returning from FIFO jobs & back into the seaboard workforce which is already phucked. Teh reserve bank now knows they have to act quickly to rescue the country. I will predict 3 more rate drops before April next year. The situation is dire in the real parts of Australia, where people have to fund their own internet, lifestyles & way of life.
But the reality is , that interest rates are irrelevant. The banks cannot get any money to lend anyway. Australia is not seen as a safe place as the entire country is riding on the back of Gina, Twiggy, Palmer, BHP & RIo

Did you make that up or did you get that from the IPA Institute of Public Affairs.

A family with a mortguage of $300,000.00 will save up to $4,500 per year now.

Interest rates are always higher under the Do Nothing Guv'ment
