Raiders have deep seeded issues off the field...the lunatics really are running the asylum. It's a side full of young layabouts like Dugan and Thompson and Ferguson who have no accountability and no leash. The only remaining professional, IMO, has just retired, and it was a hugely telling thing to see him playing on with four injuries while Dugan declares himself unfit with a minor strain. I'm glad he's retired, the club is heading for a period that a guy like him doesn't deserve to be associated with.

I'm not a Raiders fan but frankly I'm outraged for the Raiders. What Michael Hagan doesn't know about rugby league could fit into an encyclopedia. ... Scratch that - it could fit into Bruce Stadium.

Quite simply, when you are in a slump you don't go and hire one of the least successful coaches in rugby league history to give you advice. Yes, he's a nice man, but a genius he is not.

He's likely to advise selling their best young halves and signing certain players on lucrative long term deals. Did we get value for money from Ben Smith or Brett Finch's deals? Cayless? Even they were better than Haurauki (I still shudder). He got rid of Maloney and Hodkinson .... because an NRL team doesn't need back up halves....

At any rate, if they cut Shaun Fensom he'd be an ideal repacement for Hindy.

And Hagan always rated Luke Burt!!!

I think so. You want to talk about Hindy replacements? We already have him IMO in the guy you singled out.

He's the only guy we have whose heart rivals Hindy's IMO. For all his flaws, Ben Smith should be Hindy's long-term replacement IMO.

Can't argue with that. I've noticed his shorts have been dropping lately showing a lot of crack too so he's the perfect replacement.

This is the funniest thread I have ever read on this forum and I have only read the title and Gronk's initial post. I can't wait to read some of the replies.

I think you're being a bit harsh on Dugan , I remember 1 brave effort when he battled on for 30 minutes despite having a large pimple on his arse .....naturally once it popped he had to go off ...and quite rightly too !!!

at least Canberra are trying to solve their obvious problems via a review....Parra seem to be quite happy with how our season has unfolded and seem to be placated by throwing up excuses and the promise of a better season next year because about 5 new recruits will arrive to play in key positions....i guess we know that such change always runs smoothly and the new players always mesh quickly by say Round 2.....

mind you, i guess, we did run a similar review last year....that worked a treat clearly
we can laugh at the Raiders all we like (ie. especially utilising Hagan) but we are the ones most likely to finish with the spoon and even if we don't its been a horrid season

How much are we paying him?

I thought he was on Mortimer money. Though, I don't have any inside info.

I think he's a great player. But whether he's a long term replacement for Hindy -- I'm not so sure.. This is his seventh season of first grade. He's probably got another 2-3 seasons left in him.

His pace has improved and actually hasn't been bad in the centres. In fact I'd keep him there next year to shore up the defence, espaecially if Loko is on the wing (and/or Burt). However, he wouldn't be a priority retention in my book.
