OT- The Ashes, 2015

When was the last time he bowled 15 overs in a day??? His bowling had fallen away badly the last few years. And his batting is an inconsistent as it always has been.

His most recent test in Australia (January 2015). He bowled 20 overs in the first innings (2/58), and 8 overs in the 2nd (1/22).

Still not enough when you are batting at 6 and only averaging mid 30's.

Now Lyon is gone. Can't these blokes play straight??? Ffs!!

f**k me!

Johnson unfortunately couldn't deliver with the ball, let's hope he can get us out of trouble here.

He normally only bats well after he has bowled well.

England have bowled much better and much smarter. Plus us gifting two wickets to the straight breaking spinner has killed us.

Maybe he'll smash them and then destroy them with the ball too? He's done that before too after a slow first innings with the ball.

How long will glamourboy Watson be in the team, loyalty to him has been stretched for about the last 3 years , time to go is well past

Pathetic effort this morning, Watson once again failing when it matters most and Haddin is well past it. His drop changed the game, both need to be moved on.

Early days, mate, it's not like we are on the rack. This game is somewhere between a draw and a loss for OZ atm. I certainly won't write any player off after 2.1/3 days of a 5 test series. That's why it's a test series.

A mate of mine asked me the other day what I thought about the Ashes and how we'd go.
These were my thoughts.

1. I worry about the placid tracks the Poms will prepare. They have done it for the past two series, where they prepare flat tracks to nullify our pace men. I told him that I thought Johnston may very well end up being useless over there, even though he terrorised them just last series.

2. Mitchell Starc can swing a ball so he'll go ok.

3. I think they'll work Steve Smith out early and put pressure on him.

4. No matter the conditions, Anderson will swing the ball.

5. The Kiwis just gave them a run for their money, so we should be competitive.

6. Joe Root is a knob.

This was all before the first ball was bowled.
Nothing has changed my opinion since, particularly point 6. Seriously, who laughs at a bloke who has just suffered a severe blow to the meat and/or potatoes?

I dunno. It's a bit like a Ricky Gervais show. I find myself cringing, but there's the occasional laugh.

The answer to Suity's question of course is every single person other than the victim.

It's how its always been and how it always will be
