If you are as anti The Muppet as I am do yourself a favour and head to The Canberra Raiders Greenhouse Forum. An absolute scream. Put simply, R Stuart has lost the confidence of the fans. Best read Ive had in like FOREVER. Lol.

It starts earlier than that mate.

1. Sign contract in full knowledge of the squad membership
2. Turn up at the club and announce how surprised you are at the quality of the roster, and note that it would take a miracle worker to do well with this lot.
3.4.5.6.
7. Keep up your spectacular coaching record for most of the season
8. Deny speculation that you're going anywhere....get a few of the local fans to rubbish anyone who suggests otherwise.
9. Say 'oops'.....I didn't really mean any of that.


But, I guess to be fair, he signed Peats and Norman.

I actually recall Peatsy stating that Nolan got him to the club. So far as Norman is concerned I have no idea but Id bet hes glad the Muppet did a runner.

Lots of Ricky apologists in that thread. I feel sorry for those guys because he will let them down the most when he scarpers with all the cash and leaves the club on the brink of ruin.

You may well be right, but I think Ricky will try and stick around a bit longer there than he did at the Eels, due to his history with the club, even if they are a basket case.
He also knows that if he f**ks another club, particularly the club that he is (currently) still considered a legend, it would be the end of his coaching career. He'll try in all his power to turn this around. It's his last throw of the dice.

Absolutely. He's quickly running out of people to con.

The pressure is really showing I think he knows his coaching career is in tatters. He is desperate to deflect as much blame as possible to give himself as much time as possible to hopefully turn things around. History suggests it won't.

Most of that press conference was cringe worthy. What a disgrace of a human.
