Unlike whiny fans, people inside the league community can't just run around deathriding and putting shit on each other. They have their reputations to worry about.

Obviously Rebecca Wilson's reputation is already f**ked so she can journalise as dirty as she likes. She's got nothing to lose.

Or simply tell the truth.

Would Sticky be the first coach to ever win two consecutive spoons with 2 different clubs ?

Apparently yes? I think there was an article this week listing all of the consecutive spoon-winning coaches, and they were all at the same club... Raudonikus at Wests, Brian Smith at Illawarra, Jack Rayner with three consecutive at Parra.

Ricky could set a record this year!

Yep. And he aint finished yet. Although most respectable journos would disagree cause we dont wanna burn our bridges with such an icon of the game and a master coach to boot do we now?

I'd love to see Ricky get the "three-peat". Seems like his coaching ability - and his professionalism about sticking with his contract - merits such an achievement.

Because of his career as a player, Ricky Stuart is very well connected within the rugby league community. Putting shit on the guy is going to win a journo a lot more enemies than friends, and journalists rely on access to people. Without it they're nothing.

True, but there's a limit to everything. And the tide is turning.

I guess it's a question of whether it was stickys coaching tonight that made it close or were his players so embarrassed last week that they decided to put their body on the line

It all came down to... He had us for longer, so we were bad for more of the match... But he's had them more recently, so they were much worse at the end...
