is it just me or do you guys think our swimmers are the most level headed, humble sportssmen and women?

That was an awesome night. I woke up with perfect timing, 300m to go in the 1500. In the medley, I thought we were gone for all money but what a swim by Thomas and Henry. Lenton's bronze was pretty good too in the 50m.

Petria Thomas' swim in the butterfly leg of that race was nothing short of phenomenal. Then the new darling of Aussie swimming finished it off beautifully. All the girls did well though breaking Aussie records and ofcourse The WORLD record in that race.

I cant believe phelps has won 5 gold. Im shattered. Kudos to him, but maybe if he didnt swim in powder puff events with little competition, aka medleys, then it may have been a different story. He did carve the butterfly though.

I reckon the great man, thorpe, should give the medleys a crack. Remember when he had a muck around swim in the backstroke a few years ago and towelled up mat welsh, a bloke who has spent his whole life fine tuning the stroke. Surely the great man could swim a decent butterfly leg too. Go for it thorpie, dont let the cocky sep take your crown.

The biggest disappointment of the swimmers.............Klim
he should've retirred and given the 4th spot in the 200mtr relay to Todd Pearson or Craig Stevens, Klim lost that race for us.

The most oustanding swimmer..........................Petra Thomas
an absolute legend in the relays.

Biggest spoilt brat of the games..........Leisel Jones.

What a stupid cow. She stands there sulking all the bloody time "Boo hoo. I only won this crappy Silver Medal. Life is so bloody unfair! Why do bad things happen to good people??!!"

I'm sick of her.

Not to mention she did jack all in the Relay yesterday.

Does she have any idea what kind of prestigeous position she is in? How many Athletes would kill to have what she has? Some compete and come back empty handed. She's lucky she has anything.

Granted she had high expectations and all, but thats no excuse to scowl and sulk all over the bloody place because you didn't reach them. You pull your thumb from your arse and try again.

She needs a good backhander. I nominate myself.

your kidding!

look at the splits and you will see that hackett swam a full second slower than his 200m final time

i know hackett had bigger things to worry about, but surely he could have swam the heat easily and got a gold medal with someone replacing him in the final

Do you know much about swimming Booyah?? Her split in the medley relay was 1.06:50. Her time in her individual final was 1.07.15. Given she gets a flying start in the relay equivalent to about half a second, that still puts her relay time quicker than her individual swim. I can't see how that can be classed as "jack all"
