78 GF, WITHOUT A DOUBT.
You hit it in one, Blacktip. The premiership was ours until it was handed to Manly on a platter. This indicated to me that corruption was rife in RL. I still have nightmares about it.

Still hearing Dragons supporters singing 38 years and won f*$k all Sharkies Sharkies, and the other one, ie the Cronulla Helpline:

1800 10 10 10, that number again 1800 won nothing won nothing!.

I wouldn't mind a premiership before I retire, more than anything else.

The 1978 GF was one of the most boring ever played. I'd never want to watch it again. A scrum penalty kicking contest, 2 tries from bombs. I was 16 years old. After the replay debacle (7 try tackles, forward passes) I was furious, I went home got every single Big league magazine I had, and attacked Manly players with darts. Russel Gartner's bug eyes came in for particular attention. Terry Randall's head finished up under my foot. Greg Hartley's photo was flushed down the dunny. Hate, Hate, I still hate Manly, always will while there is breath in my lungs.

I was back the next year when the Sharks lost 23-4, and 30-15 to Parra and Dogs. They surrendered without a whimper that year.

Slightly different angle on this as far as a heatbreaking moment goes.

North Sydney Oval, playing the bears, peachey and ET had a field day in front of about 4000 people, ALL sharks fans bar about 400 bear die hards...

A dedicated and in form Russell richardon was tackled on the west touchline after he threw a pass inside and fell awkwardly, his knee went, just 2 weeks after a long and hard battle to come back from his second knee operation on teh same knee. He knew as soon as he went down and the ground being so empty made it easy for all on the western side to see him throw his head back in depsair and cry out " oah shit no, not again !" he had tears in his eyes as his was carried up to the sheds.

Likewise, Sam isemonger at penrith , first game back , knee gone. Sams head just went down, no cries or anguish from him, just deep hurt and disapointement. but look at what dedication has reaped foe him this season.

THe most shaken I have ever been at a sharks match was at northpower stadium V the Beagles, JAson Ferris was hit extremely awkwardly from directly behind, one of those ones when he had NO idea it was coming and was not braced at al, his head whipped back in a sickening action and he lay motionless for about 10 minutes until they stretchered him off. both teams warmed up in cricles at opposing ends of the field, and you could hear a pin drop in the entire stadium, I honestly thought I could be witnessing the NRLs first death or at least paraplegic case., knowing his wife and boy had driven up to watch the game only made the sick feeling worse.

Thankfully it turned out okay, but it looked just terrible.

The capitulation against Manly in 1995 was bad too. We led 20-8. it was an opportunity for revenge and we muffed it.
Yes I was there. And watched in amazement as ET choked a sitter.

Replay was never an issue as we had 1/2 our team out on the Tuesday.

We tried to do one of these threads in the St George forum. One that can grow over time. And build a sense of team and history.

But you wouldnt believe the shit we copped from your trolling dickheads Sandra Sulley, Surely, Tadpole, and intellectually challenged Sharkies All the Way.

How easy it would be to scroll this thread with smart arse comments, but you know, there is a respect for the sort of bonding these threads create. A respect that wasn't/isn't extended to our forum.

And before you utter the word Dimitri, take it up with him in the International forum. He isn't a regular at St George.

Trolling is a plague of frogs. And you have the most and the ugliest. Maybe the RubberTube or the Berlin Clique can ask their juniors to toe the party line.

And I'm happy for the mods here to completely remove this post of mine in the interests of keeping the integrity of the thread in tact.

Yeah. If you could just go ahead and make sure Red V & co stay in the playroom then, that would be terrific.

Thanks a bunch Rex...

Speaking of trolls, where is that perverted little skidmark Dimitri? Hasn't been seen in here for a week or two.

Maybe he finally had that brain hemorrhage we've been hoping for...

I can't recall having a dig at a thread like that in your forum Rex, sure threads like which banner and the swamp, I'll admit to. Most of them in jest.... I say most :)

But.......deep down inside, you wish you were??????? BTW, Sandra (as opposed to you Sullyfan) could park her Ugg Boots under my bed any time she chooses

The only thing envious about Sandra is that she works at the same station as Ryan Phelan. :)
