Slightly different angle on this as far as a heatbreaking moment goes.
North Sydney Oval, playing the bears, peachey and ET had a field day in front of about 4000 people, ALL sharks fans bar about 400 bear die hards...
A dedicated and in form Russell richardon was tackled on the west touchline after he threw a pass inside and fell awkwardly, his knee went, just 2 weeks after a long and hard battle to come back from his second knee operation on teh same knee. He knew as soon as he went down and the ground being so empty made it easy for all on the western side to see him throw his head back in depsair and cry out " oah shit no, not again !" he had tears in his eyes as his was carried up to the sheds.
Likewise, Sam isemonger at penrith , first game back , knee gone. Sams head just went down, no cries or anguish from him, just deep hurt and disapointement. but look at what dedication has reaped foe him this season.
THe most shaken I have ever been at a sharks match was at northpower stadium V the Beagles, JAson Ferris was hit extremely awkwardly from directly behind, one of those ones when he had NO idea it was coming and was not braced at al, his head whipped back in a sickening action and he lay motionless for about 10 minutes until they stretchered him off. both teams warmed up in cricles at opposing ends of the field, and you could hear a pin drop in the entire stadium, I honestly thought I could be witnessing the NRLs first death or at least paraplegic case., knowing his wife and boy had driven up to watch the game only made the sick feeling worse.
Thankfully it turned out okay, but it looked just terrible.
