2001 for me.

After we had beaten Canterbury so easily the week before I already had my ticket to the GF. Sold it to a Parra supporter.

ANZ Stadium, Russell Richardson spilling the ball on the try line, leading the broncos by 20-4 I think we were at the time, we ran rampant over them in the first half, highlight of which was a brilliant in an away richardson pulled on the east touchline to stand up the origin wing and three quarter, found space and showed speed, found a whippet that would have beat ANY wentworth park dog on a saturday night and he scored a great try.

we still led by that margin when richardson should have fell over the line to score what would have been the best team try of the finals series, instead, that knock on occured.

Tallis woke up with the sniff it created and stormed over under the sticks 3 minutes into the second half, from there it was all downhill.

That was heartbreaking, I remember seeing mat rogers in tears after the match apologising to a fan for the loss, he was gutted as was the entire team, that was our year in my opinion, we were playing fantastic footy, and that one heartbreaking moment was the turning point.

I think the Broncos had cut the lead back to 20-18 when Richardson bombed that try. If he'd scored the Sharks would have probably got home. :( All these missed chances! :?

Always has been the 1978 Greg Hartley inspired manly getting over us in the replay of the grand final....I still haven't forgiven Bob Fulten or Graham Eadie and I'm pretty damn sure I'll catch up with Greg Hartley in heaven where he'll have to pay his dues.

Ditto Iamasharkie. The GF replay was the most miserable day of my life. It was a dark, dark day.

I hope Manly get the spoon this year. I would like to write a letter to Bob Fulton and Peter peters expressing my SINCERE condolences at recieving the spoon.

2002 against NZ. It didn't really hit me till I turned around and saw grown men in sharks jerseys crying. We were coming back so hard in the 2nd half, Noddy kicked the 40-20 the sharkie gave me a high 5 8) and yeah we were killing it. Then Mellor got shot and Stacey Johns put us 6 points behind following a kick/pass to Carlaw.

Also Peachey with his break and did his hammy. Beattie didn't play, so Stevo did and he couldn't even walk himself to his car that day he was so sick.

f**k that day hurt.

No, 2002 isn't the worst. By that stage I'd grown used to bowing out at the final hurdle.

1999 was the worst. Listening to the game on the radio before the delayed coverage.... then we crash and burn. I never watched the game.

That's right, it's all coming back to me now...

We lost our star 5/8 (gee, remember him before he became the next Eddie McGuire?) late in the season...Bird was gonna save us!

Apart from whats been scibbed already - 1979 4 V 5 - Sharks dont turn up against Canterbury - get beaten 30-15. I think rogers scored off a bomb he put up, last man standing sort of capper.

Frank Hyde quips he will not cross the road to watch Cronulla again. Is Hyde dead?

99 , day after my sisters wedding , big party at my mum's. I was the only sharks supporter amongst a thousand stains all watching the tv. One chick sat in the car and heard the score ( on purpose , it was delayed for some reason )then come in and slyly told people ...f**king band wagon whores all crawled out of the woodwork becoming stains supporters. Needless to say it was heartbreaking.
Women , children the lot all got on them once the game was lost. It was disgusting.

Their joy very short lived in what must have been one of the worst chokes in the history of GF's.
