Just on the South’s V Raiders match , it seems as if old Wayne has brought that same rock solid defensive pattern to the wabbits . They are going great guns at present and the refs smile upon them as well .

Bennett only needs a couple of good attacking players in his teams and the defense takes care of the rest , even now they are looking good for an end of season berth in the big one .
As you know Gareth defence wins games.
Like you say a couple of good attacking players & bobs your uncle.

Bennett has proven his theory regarding defence. I say the two or three good attacking players also need to be able to defend well.

We have Dufty and Field as our two real speedsters, both with a question mark over their defensive skills. Lomax has speed and is defensively good. Hunt and Norman are quick but can be average in defence.

In my opinion we need to first sort out TPA and then clean out our ranks and go to the market for quality players on TPA. The roosters got Tedesco on 700k plus a 500k TPA, they look to have Mitchell on 800k with a 400k TPA, just an example of what is happening out in the real world of payments to NRL marquee players.

On the other hand we know that at SGI De Belin is on 550k and we have one of the worst coaches in the game. In addition to that we have a recruitment team who struggle to sign any of the marquee players on the market and seem to be restricted to those players who are not wanted by their current Club.

Even with a full team against Newcastle they still would have pumped us, they've really been a top side the last few rounds and are turning it up against the Roosters in the 1st half

I'm finding it harder and harder to care less about the WWFNRL these days, and I think the principal reason is the prevalence of hyperbole-spouting, bandwagon-jumping, inarticulate, clueless d*ckheads among the F*xSports "commentary team".
If I hear the words "Kaylen"and "Ponga" one more time tonight I'm going to be seeing my spag bol again in barely digested form.

If you haven’t seen Robinson’s press conference tonight do yourself a favour.
Honest, Frank, Accountability, Gracious, Articulate, Impressive, all rolled into one. The difference between him & L plate is galaxies apart. I hope Our bloke was watching & noted Robbos comments re player burnout.

2 reasons for that.
One is the use of TPA's as you correctly point out but
Two - our coaching set up is an anathema to marquee players.
Top players want to win premierships and be coached by the best.
Don't underestimate what a repellant McGregor is..

Credit to Brown, a fine example on how to bring juniors through, recruit from outside the club and how to coach at NRL level. If only SGI would have signed him.

So true Blacky and yet our flog of a coach continues to flog our forwards & under utilise the bench. Our imposter can find an excuse out of thin air and a master of deflecting blame in every direction except his own.

I just watched the presser and wasn't all that impressed to be honest. He spoke OK but was rambling on a bit, I wouldn't say highly articulate.
Also, its easy to be gracious and accountable when its 1 or 2 losses and you are sitting up the top of the table knowing full well that you have an incredible roster that will bounce back and push for the title.
I'd like to see Robinson be gracious and accountable on the back of 4 or 5 losses with a roster without Tedesco, Cronk, Keary, Mitchell and see how well he speaks.
He's relaxed and gracious because he knows its a blip and they'll be back to winning next week.

Fair enough mate, but I was referring his articulation & demeanour to our bloke. You’re right about being confident because of his roster, however I would think he’s under more pressure & scrutiny because of this as well as coaching at a club that expects results. I’m of the opinion that if the roles were changed he’d still be head & shoulders above & they would have sacked L plate by now.

Yeah I'm not comparing him to our buffoon, there is no comparison. Rather I was pointing out that he is calm and gracious because he can afford to be.
If he were under pressure he may not be so relaxed.
