Now we lost kikau and Lenui, hopgood would have taking that left edge until Yeo retired. Hopefully Hoskings can filled that void.

He wouldn't have taken Kikau's spot - he's not a backrower. He has a completely different set of skills.

He's almost 24 years old - he would be 27 at the earliest before Yeo gives up his spot.

And he signed for peanuts with the Eels. Him leaving had nothing to do with us. He wanted an opportunity to play 13 for a decent team. We can't (and shouldn't) keep them all.

I think our cap issues come down to the fact the core group of players we still have in Yeo, fish, edwards, luai leota, marto and Nath have required upgrades, some of them significant. The ones we are looking to extend over the next 12 months will probably get upgrades again. Basically we have the same group of players costing us a bigger chunk of the cap meaning we have less to spend on the rest of the team. They are better players now no doubt but we still need depth across the park and in the reserves. I seriously worry what will happen with guys Tago, Turuva, May etc if we manage to extend all of the senior guys we are looking to extend, We certainly wont keep all of them,

When you add in that we seem totally unwilling to trust any young forward as a regular first grader(leniu being the only exception)at the moment tor forwards Penrith right now looks like a great place to develop through the junior grades but if you are talented enough to progress into first grade its probably best to leave. . I get there is a win now attitude but really Hopgood was ready if we were willing to rely on him instead of feeling the need to go out and get Garner and Hosking.

As solid as Hopgood was. He missed the tackle that lost the game and missed 7 in total. He's good but we have great.

He probably shouldnt be playing 80 minutes yet, BA has the worst rotations. Hop, Carty and Hodgson all played the full game, Those are not guys used to those kind of minutes.

It was a bad call, the fatigue got them in the end. 2 of those players missed the tackle on the winning try.

Hate too referee a Storm game, probably spent the next 24 hours thinking about all the s__t I missed or let slide then rationalising that I will probably let them get away with it all over again next match.

Poor coaching. He has barely played NRL. He made 178 mtrs and 58 tackles. He needed a spell not extra time. That one is on BA.

Exactly. Bryce was excellent btw. Halves and Gutherson where dreadfull as was Lumelume.

But they went to golden point. With their 3 highest paid players having stinkers. I doubt any will play that poor all season.
Also had a forward pass try disallowed which was incorrect. And Lumelume bomb a try. Storm missing troops also but Lane,Matterson,Russel/Simmonson and soon Curtis Sironem the rumours suggest will add some starch.

Ok, so now it’s ok for your stars to have stinkers and go to Golden Point. Exactly what happened to Penrith in the WCC, except our players didn’t have stinkers but we’re slightly off their game. Everyone was quick to jump on Penrith for losing still.

Remember too, from our GF team we were missing API and Kikau can’t be helped but still. Sorro, Edwards , Martin and now Luke our new Hooker.

Get a grip mate, first game of the year. Clear the cob webs, Parra will be better.
