Normally as I watch a match I like to dissect the teams players faults weaknesses. With out pointing the finger at the coach
But can genuinely say the dragons need to get rid of Flanagan.The dragons are so easily read in attack same plays no diversion or shape in attack
Previous weeks Flanagan junior coped the heat but he is not there now.And we are seeing ground hog day in how they attack nothing.The fans are booing spilling .there beer filling the cups with tears
Gutherson is like Jake t at manly time to retire .The game is past them

Atkinson cannot kick, pass or organise. He can tackle sometimes but that just shows what he is capable of because for years he has been a benchy and has only been a bit player.

I actually thought Atkinson was one of their better players when I saw them. Albeit being a pretty low bar.

Every in goal kick he put in went dead. That was because the kick was always from the 20 because they couldn't get closer. Rubbish attack with NFI. And rubbish defence because they are all lazy.

The trouble with blaming the coach is there is so many other factors that set the team up for success. Sure, sack Flanagan but how does that change the back office? Conditioning, analytics, sports medicine, diet, junior recruitment and development.

Gus was talking about winning his first GF as coach of Canterbury and the fact there were basically four staff. Assistant coach, trainer, physio and himself.

Now the coach is managing a staff of 20 plus. If they don’t have a say in who they are and what they do, they can still fail.

Since 2020, the Panthers have lost 16 of the 21 players on the GF team roster. Since then, the club has produced, Katoa, Iongi, Turuva, May x3, Hopgood, Staines and Blore to name a few, from the juniors who have gone to other clubs and played first grade. Who have the Dragons produced?

Phillips rolled off the production line this year and looks first grade quality. Milky did it last year.

Who are the Dragons producing that are as good? Is that Flanagan? Who is running their development? They have plenty of juniors, especially from the wonderful Wollongong catchment. No excuses.

Of course, it might all be down to his decisions but the Dragons have been producing dross long before Flanagan got the gig.
