Brisbane's roster is insane.
With WT's present roster, can you imagine adding a couple of Brisbane's players to it......Haas and Staggs. Also Walsh and Cobbo if they could illuminate their brain explosions.
The show ponies have enough talent to take out this year's title but have they the work ethics and intestinal fortitude to get the job done?
Once the game starts, blind Freddy could coach that side to victory.
It's time for the players to put their hand up and take ownership of their performances, not the coach.
Remember the days of the captain coach. It was player first, coach second. In fact our coach was not much more than our captain.

Red Hill
Madge Peaks in round one! That’d be too much to ask..but I’ll take it

Red Hill can be brutal. Noones' safe in that joint.
On a side note, I went to their radiology dept last week which is opposite the league's club and it's very impressive. Coupled with the state of the art training ground and facilities the Clive Berghofer Centre really is top shelf stuff.

For sure.. I sometimes look at things a little deeper… perhaps too deep? . I’m wondering what Madge meant by “Ill take the blame for that loss” for the second question.. ..Does he mean he went too far with the players in some regard like we know he can.. by either putting too much fear into them or muzzling them too much.. Walsh made some very uncharacteristic mistakes (and Reynolds) I hardly noticed if hunt was playing.. That’s unusual.. Madge has always been able to talk his way out of a bad game. The next level below that is when he talks shit.. like this time.. it’s like he’s lost his sanity .. eg “I can’t tell you why but Ill take the blame for that loss. I need to tell the players first tho” and “I prob need to get to know the players better” . What could that mean? That was vintage Madge when he was in the throws of wt losses towards the end of his tenure here... This is club footy . A different beast from Madges recent highlights reel

It’s a really odd comp this year. Small sample size but looks like there might be only one really good team (Storm) and then a stack of ordinary ones. I think we might have a year where 3-4 wins separates say 5th-14th at the end of the year. It’s all going to be about winning the games you should.

The game today is the most ‘we should win’ game we’ve had in 4 years. If we’re anyway serious about being in contention for finals we simply have to win.

I'll say this about the Broncos....they have a bottom four back row. While they have guys that can have the odd bit of impact here and there, they do not have a complete back rower in their line up.

the pack ran riot over a depleted roosters one last week, but overall it’s still not great. Haas is obviously elite, Carrigans really good but more of a 13, Hetheringtons a tackler, doesnt offer anything with the ball, the bench is plod apart from willisson who still has a stack is mistakes in him and as you say their edge forwards are pretty meh

Any team with a strong prop rotation should handle them fairly easily.

They do have some guys coming thru like Xavier Willison and Brendan Piakura but a club like the powerhouse Broncos should be busting at the seams with them.
Every club has more back rowers than middles so what the?
