Never even contemplated that he’d possibly play elsewhere. He’s become as synonymous with Manly as Toovey and Lyons.

Indications are he wanted 2 years and they wouldn’t give him the respect of offering 2 straight up

Seibold didn’t get an invite to his wedding in the off season, not sure if that’s a common thing or not though

The other club in the mix sounds like the Dolphins, Redcliffe juniors and his dad was heavily involved in that club

This is wild. Apparently the Manly CEO rang into Fox Sports to say they'd offered DCE two years, but the guy himself says they haven't made an offer at all?

Surely Beav, this is a significantly destabilising thing to happen to the club, as early as round 3?

I will say this - no sport, potentially anywhere around the world, does drama like the NRL does. There's your podcasts, your articles, your social media for the week, your 'eyeballs' all sorted

I obviously don't know the ins and outs, as no one apart from DCE and Manly do, but it seems like a massive slap in the face that a 15-year player, who was given the massive boost by that club of a 10-year deal, is not going to see his time out there.

It also feels real dirty laundry to do it this publicly.

Yeah it is bizarre, I expect him to be the ultimate professional for the rest of the season, but I also won’t be surprised if we hear some boo’s on Sunday afternoon at Brookie, or if they shit the bed against Parramatta. I’ll back him in this, but also it feels far too orchestrated that he makes this announcement an hour or 2 before he has TV commitments on nine

Talks of Seibold and DCE not being close, and Seibold was public a few months ago in saying he say Tom playing 6. Perhaps they’ve deliberately held of to make him leave without them coming out and saying we don’t want him. The public offer I see as no more than a face saving exercise, must like how Parramatta came out last year and said they are targeting Wayne Bennett, when everyone knew he had already signed with Souths

I’m not a fan of the owner and CEO at all, I was going to take a break from it last year when they signed Lodge, but relented because DCE and the Turbos were still there. I’ll continue on because I see Jake put everything he has into it every week and love watching what he offers , but the passion has certainly eroded away over the years

Listening to the 100% Footy podcast now, can’t say I feel DCE is being overly truthful here. Says no offers at all from other clubs, wants to get this public now and take his time to consider all offers later in the year, but then states he won’t consider the Manly offer

He is already signed, sealed and delivered elsewhere imo

yeah he mentioned talks started last December

That ‘backflip’ was slightly different circumstance. Bit of background to it, both Foran and DCE were offered and agreed deals by 1 CEO, new CEO came in and decided to go in a different direction and they would only keep one, and they pulled DCEs offer off the table and decided Foran was the direction. Eventually DCE signs the deal with the Titans, in the background Manly don’t know Foran is bitter at the club for treatment of G Stewart etc, and strings them along saying he is sweet until DCE signs with the Titans, then not long later, Foran announces he is off to Parramatta, and his wife on social media posts “hahahaha, Karma”. Bob Fulton says it wont be happening that they lose both and drags that big unprecedented deal together to get DCE to change his mind

Amazing how much drama Rugby League can produce haha

You have to question Anthony Seibold here. He's playing with his coaching future by constantly allowing Moses (also his agent) plonking players at Manly.

Sure but the way he treated the Titans wasn’t ideal?

DCE was the better option to keep then though, with the benefit of hindsight
