Herbert flies in to boost Warriors' stocks

https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/03/21/herbert-flies-in-to-boost-warriors-stocks/

Warriors winger Patrick Herbert has given the club's stocks a welcome boost after returning to Australia to join teammates, while former Dragons prop Lachlan Timm is training with the club.

Meanwhile, Timm has been training with the Warriors after the QRL's Intrust Super Cup was suspended along with the NSWRL's Canterbury Cup and all grassroots and elite junior competitions.

The 23-year-old prop is on a training contract with the Brisbane Broncos and has been playing for Redcliffe in the Intrust Super Cup.

Timm spent last season with St George Illawara and was named in the Canterbury Cup team of the year.

The Warriors have been in discussions with rival NRL clubs about signing players on loan deals and will reassess their stocks after this weekend's match against Canberra.

WARRIORS SET TO SECURE ROOSTERS YOUNG GUN ON LOAN DEAL

Roosters prop Poasa Faamausili will join the Warriors next week under a revolutionary four-week loan deal.

The Daily Telegraph reported the Auckland-born Faamausili will be the first player loaned to the injury-hit Warriors to help the club through a tough start to the revamped season.

Faamausili is related to legendary Penrith Panthers duo Frank and Tony Puletua.

After 14 NRL appearances with the Roosters, the 24-year-old will be loaned to the Warriors for up to four weeks, before returning to play for the Tri-colours in round nine.

Agree. Would you rather have 4weeks with SK learning n watching from sidelines and 18 for Murchie, compared to squad time being coached by Robinson or Stuart??

Looks like we've got our man, Poasa Faamausili to join the team after this week and is eligible to play from Rd 4.

Surely we chuck him in next week. We have to.
If I was Kearney I'd be making it really clear to the team that who ever doesn't perform this week, well be replacing them with this guy and the kid from Canberra.
If nothing else, use these boys for motivation or light a rocket up the other boys

So we get him at 4 weeks then what? I don’t recall any of our middle forwards having short term injuries. Bunty, Ah Mau and Jackson Frei are all gone for the year or there abouts. In 4 weeks are we going to look to loan a new player? If we loan it should be season or nothing.

I think the idea is that he's essentially replacing Tevaga on our roster, who should be back by Rd 9.

And with that Canberra lad, that brings the injuries to a more manageable situation

I don't like the 'on loan for only a few weeks' concept. If anything, it could be disruptive to our season.

If you're coming to the Warriors, then you come for the season.

What happens if we start winning with the loan player and then go back to losing when the injured player returns?

If we’re about lose our 2 wingers and Paasi i guess Payton must be scouring other clubs to see what loan players we can get onboard.
And i wonder if after the 2x Roosters injuries last night if the Faamausili deal might be cut short. Yes he’s a prop but i’m sure it’ll be talked about.

Is Paul Turner able to play for the team? I get confused over the development players eligibility etc

Welcome to Jack Hetherington from the Panthers for the next four weeks.

I remember this guy as being a bit of a loose cannon on the field. Knowing our luck he'll probably get suspended while he's with us.
