I don't know if Whare at fullback at a huge influence on our performance yesterday. He ran the ball strongly, positionally he wasn't too bad. In saying that, we looked a match better defensive team when he came into the front line. I still can't get over how poor Blakes defence was.

It'll be tough next week no matter who we play but whoever we play will be under the pump as well. Pressure does funny things to teams & at least we're used to it by now.

I hate this. Blake can be really amazing and should be in the team but Whare definitely helped our defence a lot.

We just played two months of semi final intensity matches. If we matched it with Manly we would've had nothing left for the finals. We probably just looked at the margin of error to miss the top eight and thought we've already done enough to make it.

In all honesty I think we will be freshened up for next week and play much better, just like how many clubs before us has done over the years.
2 months of semi final intensity against almost all bottom 8 teams? Yeah nah

They were bottom 8 teams but other top 8 teams were losing to those teams consistently over the past 2 months. Regardless of what you think of the coaching, it was a very big effort to get us to where we are now considering the start to the year.

Our mental application in defence & not dropping our bundle when things go against us over has improved immensely. I think we can tough it out against good sides like we did against Canberra, if we're switched on.

Manly were red hot yesterday, we were a little off, & we paid for it. I think Manly would of done a job on any team in the Comp yesterday in fairness, every 'expert' is saying that was there best performance of the year by some margin.

I'm just stoked to have another crack at the finals. No doubt there'll be some heroes on here hoping we lose just so they can say 'griffin is shit', but If you want the team you support to fail just so you can say 'I told you so' on an Internet forum, you've gotta get a life.

CARNNN YOU PANTHERS!

Griffin is such a terrible coach he has achieved more than Cleary already. 2 for 2.

I believe Blake has a shoulder injury and it showed. His defence is normally good.

Wallaces busted hand has affected his passing and some of it was terrible.

May was a bit overwhelmed at times and went missing. Perfectly understandable, he has less than ten games under his belt. Will be a great player.

If Moylan goes, our two young halves get an off season together and then they can be told the team is theirs. If you want a forward to run the ball up, tell em "get the f*ck up there'. Brandy would have kicked Tamou's arse from one side of the field to the other getting him to fire up.

Against physical teams we need Latu and McKendry so we have a bigger bench. We are a bit light up front to deal with the onslaught with those two out.

Moylan has now shown he is not captain material. The drinking incident earlier in the year and now failing to keep his unhappiness to himself at a crucial part of the year, shows he has ego and is selfish. Griffin can deny that Moylan's issue has affected the team but of course it has. It is disruptive and the players are like any human and will be wondering what the hell is going on. Moylan did not help keep the situation calm and has been unprofessional. Telling Corey Parker at the game that 'I'm not sure I'll be here next week" was so selfish and unfair on his team mates. Very disappointed in Moylan.

The commentators revealed we have the worst attack in the NRL in the red zone. I think there are a number of issues here. Moylan has been out of form this year and his pairing with Cleary still needs work. Cleary still needs work on his decision making and that just needs experience. Our attacking structures are overly simple with not enough movement off the ball and decoy runners to give our passers options. We have skilled short passers like May, Cleary and Cartwright, but they need options and right now they are not getting them. An uninjured dummy half will help as well.

Yesterdays result wasn't good, but the effort was there. We were out on our feet when Manly had 70% possession for an extended period but we rallied and finished much more strongly. Our fitness levels and commitment are excellent and give us a great base to work on for next year. Another years physical maturity for Edwards, May, CHN and Cleary will also do wonders.

CHN looks a bit bushed. Understandable, it's his first year in first grade and really he should have been put back in NSW cup for a rest by now.

Manly Manly Manly.

Manly...they might get complacent. And FFS if the team isn't fired up after last night. They get a chance to atone for what they dished up.

If the miracle occurs (Our captain stays and Edwards returns) I'd feel we are a chance.

Manly absolutely. There are three tiers of teams left in this comp. Melbourne, the next four and then the next four. We can go with the bottom tier and we may upset the second tier on the odd occassion but I can't see us doing it twice. Play Manly with some fire from this weeks loss and then say Easts and we have a shot at limping into the prelim where we get schooled by the Storm. Cronulla just don't give you enough time and our side isn't equipped to handle that style right now even at their best.

Wallace is done id punt on Egan next week. He's already better than Rein
Not sure about Egan for next week but would consider Kaoto as they played much better when he came on even if Manly had lifted foot off peddle by then. If Wallace plays but not Moylan or Edwards he need as an ex half back to help Cleary in kicking from dummy half.
Whether it would be worth a punt on playing either Moylan and or Edwards next week I don't know, perhaps.

Well I have no interest in watching footy today anymore but looking at the scorecard for the Sharkies game, 26-18 atm with Sharks enjoying 56% possession against the Knights, it looks like everybody but the Storm are crumbling right now.

I guess the optimist in me would say any side that pieces a few good games together could stumble their way into a grand final bollocking against the Storm right now. Last time it took a tight loss and a blasting from an average team to get our skates back on. Who knows. This comp is a shambles. The only thing we know is if Melbourne don't take out the premiership it will be one almighty choke. I relish it.

Doesn't matter how shit they were. They were all playing for their seasons. There was always going to be a decline in output after a run of matches against sides giving 100% to save their seasons.

I'm not excusing our level of play to only narrowly beat several sides, I'm just stating relevant physiological and psychological bearings that definitely could have been at play(Health Science Uni student talking here).

I think more to the point, regardless of opposition, our squad was living with the mental pressure of having to win every week. You can't play just win for 4 months without it taking a toll. Only themselves to blame for getting into that situation though. Maybe it was the famous loss we had to have.

Turns out Sea Eagles could have won by 50 and we remain in the finals.

The only result that went against us was the one we could control.
