Our forwards aren't making an impact in offence

I'm not too sure what's going on with our forwards, but I pray that they will come good sooner rather than later. It seems everyone is going missing, and leaving it to the backs to work it off our own goal line. The forwards need to stand up and be counted and this involves Josh Perry stopping being so f**king lazy and role the sleeves up and do the hard yards. I agree with everyone else here that Tolar needs to go back to the bench and come on after about 20-odd minutes and Abraham goes back to lock. We just need some direction in the halves and while Abes is there, we just aren't getting enough of it. Mullen can't do it all himself, he needs someone out there to give him a hand.

In the Herald today, there was an article about this, with Smith supposedly looking at getting Sargent, Taufua, and Snowden into FG in the very near future.

Snowy could handle it

just needs a bit more fitness

certainly big enough

Taufua is first pick on form.

There is strong mail doing the rounds that Jason Ryles will be a Knight next year and may have already agreed in principal to a deal.

Before he was injured he was the most effective prop in the first month of the comp & against the Cowboys carried for nearly 200metres on 19 hit ups on top of 30 odd tackles.

What are the Knights fans thoughts on him?

we need backs more than forwards

i rate ryles but depends what we are spending on him.

why would he want to leave the drags though?

Re Ryles, I'll believe it when I see him running aroud in a Knights jumper, I can't see him leaving the Saints.

More importantly, we are in desperate need of outside backs, that should be the priority.

I'd like Ryles, depending on price, and depending on injuries. We've had our problems with injury prone players for too long.

If Ryles ever left the Dragons it would be for the ESL, I could be wrong though...

yeah Ryles is injured again
out for tomorrow's match against the roosters

id prefer kite
or a mason'esque forward, who will inspire others when making their charges

No, I'm just yet to be impressed by him in PL. He had one decent game a few weeks ago and then backed it up with complete and utter rubbish the following week.

Kite over Ryles purely because of the injury factor. However Ryles would probably cost a bit more then Kite as well. But yeah any of them would be a great Bonus to our club. We need one quality centre to replace Doogs. Next year our backline will look something like this:

1. Kids
2. McManus
3. Tighe
4. Signing 1
5. Uate
6. Mullen
7. Signing 2

If we sign two good players, I would say that backline would rival the best in the league.

That backline is definitely not going to rival the best in the league. I'd be happy if we could get an above average backline on the field.

We can only buy from what's available, and there's not much. Tate is overrated.

We definitely need to buy forwards more than backs.
I'm thinking we should get one forward and a number of backs. This is because we should spend money on a forward leader, because we certainly have plenty of talent in the forwards department in all grades. But just lack the leader to show them what to do and how to do it. Just the fact that Perry is probably in this position shows why our forwards are struggling. I'd be ecstatic with Kite, because he leads from the front and just keeps carting the ball up.

With the backs, i think we need a couple because we are short in a number of positions. I think we need a quality centre, just don't know who that may be. And we need a half, cause if Mullen is injured, is there anyone else in the club who can steer the team around?

I agree we need a half, but we have so many nuffy forwards it's embarassing. Go forward is what gives the backs the space to attack.

With the forwards, i think there is enough talent, but most of it is really green. We have a Jersey Flegg forward pack that is nearly ready for first grade and will take every opportunity with open hands. They play with aggression and are ready to stamp themselves into the first grade squad, but they will lack direction. We just need a senior forward who can lead from the front by example, and hopefully the rest will follow.

What about if it looked like this:

1. Kids
2. McManus
3. Tighe
4. Hodgo
5. Uate
6. Mullen
7. Shifty

well? the thing is probably wont happen. Also I am assuming Tighe becomes a gun (the next Gaz) and Uate lives up to all the hype (makes Tuquri look like a piece of turd left on the side of the road). Also, this is after Mullen takes over Joey as the best player to play the game.

With that backline, should rival comps best would it not?

we wont get hodges. the rooters scared him off NSW.

I dont agree that we need forwards more than backs. not one iota.

we dont have a BAD forward pack - the only team that dominated them this year was Canberra, and that is the worst game ive EVER seen the Knights play. EVER.

as for the backs - ask yourselves how many of our backs would make other teams.

Kids would make any team in the comp - but prob on the bench.

Doogs would make most, but how many games can we expect out of him, and for that matter, how many years?

the rest?

if we can hold on to our forwards - maybe lose 1-2 and gain 1-2, we will have an ok pack.

as for the backs, our usual centres are the worst pairing in the NRL (Carmont/Tighe). our wingers are either ancient (doogs), too green (jimmy) or too .... bleh. (polly)

our 5/8 is a lock the size of a prop.

our #7 is at a crossroads - he is either going to kill it, or be killed by the weight on his shoulders. hope its the former.

we need a centre - preferably two.

our problem is, nearly every club is after one, meaning we are going to have to pay overs. we should have bought one last year.
