I wouldn't say that the NRL and AFL are in the same league. At the moment the AFL is ahead of the NRL by atleast 20 years, if not more.

I get that sense that IF
1. We get a decent IC with the games interest at heart
2. We get a $800mill+ TV deal next
3. The clubs aren't allowed to dictate
4. The amateur and jnr games are protected and grown
5. We get national FTA covergae and a friendlier media
6. we get a NRL that learns how to market to its assetts
7. We expand into new areas

then in the next 10-15 years RL will dominate this country.

Where I see the advantages each code has:
NRL = more tv viewers (just and sampling is very iffy), SOO, No1 in biggest and most valuable market (NSW)
AFL = stronger presence in capital cities, more $'s at club and code level, bigger attendances, national FTA TV coverage, better media coverage, better management
Soccer = Jnr participation, Int following
RU = lol

was embarrasing to see a national team in front of prob less than 9K after Tongan and Samoan fans had got sick of the rain and gone home. The death bell for Int games in Sydney?

It was terrible in West Syd today, solid rain where I was all day. Who would make a conscious decision to travel to Parra in the pouring rain to pay $55 that they could watch on TV for free? Parra Stadium isnt the most wet weather-friendly venue.

Pricing tickets at a premium was crazy for this game. It was always going to be hard to sell, and most likely to be a lower standard product than an NRL game, and should have been priced accordingly.
