Our Situation as a Club is beyond bad or tragic, it's disturbing.

It's just sickening really. It's not good enough that a wealthy club with such a loyal and sizable supporter base has two awful years, and from the looks of things, a third absolutely diabolical year heaped on top of the preceding two shockers. The off-season recruits should've strengthened us, but we've evidently gone backwards. I know Hayne's a big loss, but we have more depth than 2011 and the effort (or lack thereof) the past two weeks have been inexcusable. Obviously I was disappointed with the first few rounds of 2012- not winning a game- but I managed to remain quite phlegmatic given our poor start. Not after this effort. I'm actually incensed. It might be a cliche, but fans certainly deserve answers. I feel for those who have purchased 2012 memberships. Before tonight, I was still somewhat OK with the Eels persevering with Kearney for a while longer, after tonight my attitude has radically changed. There's no excuse for this complete and utter ineptitude and terribleness. Wow, just wow.

I guess, there will be tens of thousands of Eels fans turning away from SK tonight. Ideally, turning away from 3P as well. ;-)

but turning towards what casper? we can punt kearney tomorrow but that means writing off a new season only 4 weeks in, and hunting for yet another new coach (would YOU sign up to coach the eels at the moment?)

It's going to take a lot of courage and determination to clean out all the people involved - only the combined efforts of the members and fans could make this happen.
Daniel Anderson wanted to do a Jack Gibson like job but was stopped.
We need a coach with a lot of fire and smarts.... I would do everything possible to bring back Daniel Anderson or Jason Taylor but this also means forcing all the board to resign while an election is put in place to get a new board in.... yeah, we know all the red and black tape.... I say there's a time to f**k it all and now is just one of those times. It's going to be messy but well worth it. At least Nero's Rome ain't burnt to the grown before we started.

Persist with Kearney. Just a total clean out needed and recruit the best 19-21 yo with a 4 year plan. That means f**k off hayne hindmarsh and everyone else

Casper, I've heard about enough. I need to repond. Anderson admitted himself, he had no answer for the sides good form in 2009. Hayne put in some of the best individual performances EVER. In 2010 it went backwards.
Anderson rode Haynes freakishness. There was no long term solution by Anderson. Kearney at least is showing some long term solution. the team he inherited last year was a rabble. He's had one season of recruitment, last 2 performances have been woeful.

Yeah, I've always thought Hayne was a total nuffy who wasn't capable of single handedly carrying a team to a Grand Final and winning a Dally M medal, he must go.

I haven't seen it? He has no game plans, doesn't get the best out of the squad he has assembled, and cannot get the team to play for each other - or him.

Unless you're talking about the hype-academy... :sarcasm:

I feel sorry for Kearney- but he's not cut-out for first grade. I don't doubt he has a good 'footy brain' and has some good ideas for the future, and has perhaps been responsible for a couple of good initiatives. It's screamingly obvious that the team aren't responding to him though, despite his (no doubt) best efforts.

We don't have to worry about Hayne, he will go of his own accord. He almost left previously when we weren't doing too badly. Now that we're looking like a bunch of park footballers (that has cost him his NSW and Australian Jumpers), he will bail at the end of this contract. I'm sure once at another club, he will no longer be judged unfairly for his efforts as he won't have to carry the other 16 players which is something I'm sure will appeal quite a lot to him.

He probably has some good qualities as a coach, bot not all that's required. It's becoming more and more obvious every week that he's not the right coach for us at this particular time. He's just out of his depth.
