O'Dwyer has played well during his time in the top grade this year. He may have had a bit of an average game but his been generally good. He wont be dropped after one suss game.

Geez he wasn't too bad. We've had other more experienced players do a lot worse than O'Dwyer.

Ron Jeremy said:
His try against Souths was a soft try against very tied Rabbitohs players

They may have been a tired South unit, but O'Dwyer was running hard and strong to score that try.
Give the kid a break.
I actually think he has got a lot of talent and will come along well.
Out of all the young talent Parra has, he has been given extraordinary opportunities.
And he hasn't really let us down yet.
I'd rather him at 5/8th over Wagon anyday. He can pass.
Wagon at Lock though......that's fine with me also.

I agree with RJ, O'Dywer is not ready for First Grade. I said this the first time I saw him and nothing has changed.

In fairness to him today, he did get knocked out early, but he still only played about on par as what he has done in the last couple of weeks.

He is just another one of those many "Straight up and Down" players that we have in the team that all they can do is make some tackles and do some hit ups, but when it is come to the crunch they arent going to be able to create anything against a quality team.

I thought O'Dwyer had his BEST game against Manly and was one of the better players, along with Junior Langi, whom I thought was OUTSTANDING

The poor bloke looked a lot like Catic for a little while there, but to his credit he got up and played on. You can't expect him to assimilate to first grade that quickly. Give him a chance to find his feet.

I would have liked to see Muspratt do a bit more with the ball, but it was refreshing to see the eels run out with someone other than Wagon at 5/8.

The kid (and I enthasis KID) is as tough as nails. Would love to see his miss tackle count for the year!! I dare say he may be leading this catergory for our team!!!

Ron your judgements sometimes are bizarre.

Here we have a VERSATILE player who can play many many positions who defends the house down and when required has a bit of toe to boot.

This abuse he is copping today seems similar to the unjustified crap Ash Graham copped mid season last year!!!

O'Dwyer can play centre (and very well), lock, 5/8 and hooker (both from what i heard)
could everyone please just give him time Smith has thrown him to play lock then changes him to play centre and he seems to adjust to it very easily he will be a great utility for us (i hope) in the future.
And who cares if Souths defence was soft...if it was so soft (as most of you say) then why didnt we score more tackles
O'Dwyer is a future star...he can probably play 3 times as well as he is right now

He may have only "made" 27 tackles however from what I saw you could nearly credit him with a few more - if he wasn't the first in to a lot of tackles he was next in and helped put a lot on the ground. Yeah he gave the intercept pass however he didn't do a hell of a lot more wrong. After getting smashed - it even sounded like a car wreck - he was pretty much straight back up and into it again.

From what I understand he wasn't supposed to start - Widders was however when Brian announced the team he announced O'Dwyer as starting and Widders as the replacement so just before kickoff they had to switch. No he isn't a flashy player however he does a lot of tidying up around the rucks and was probably going to be used in a similar role to Webster - but due to the mishap above it didn't pan out that way. He can cover centre, lock, hooker and five-eight at a pinch. He has played on the wing for Qld U 19's and was given a MOM award when selected at lock in the same team not two weeks later.

Junior Langi, Shane Muspratt and Adam Peek have looked out of their depth at times and have played a hell of a lot more first grade football then this kid however very little is said about their performances in recent weeks. Hell even Hindmarsh and Cayless missed nine more tackles than the kid's one miss yesterday. The kid has a job in defence - and he is more than capably pulling it off.
