yeh god forbid fans actually want to book holidays, flights, accommodation etc to follow the international game! And people want the NRL in charge of everything? please.
Meanwhile my social feed is full of adverts for the ruggers Lions tour which is still a year away.

Grand Final night 2 months from today. We still don’t know what’s happening 2 weeks after that. But the ARLC really really cares for the International game..
You know that pile of paper on your desk that you know is going to be a slug to get through so you just put it off ?

That's International League to the ARLC

Why are they still advertising for Lions tickets?

The Union brigade were bragging that the tests and touring games all sold out in less than 24 hours months ago :/

Think they applied some 'literary licence' with their headline lol

To be fair though, its still pretty impressive regardless. A year out and from memory, 2/3 test matches are sold out with the MCG test and all mid week games not far behind. The travelling Lions fans are a good bunch so it'll be a good few weeks for the code. Which it badly needs.

RL would benefit from something similar if all parties got their shit sorted.

Anyone with some inside knowledge know wth is happening? Yakstorm?

Literally 2 months and possibly 1 week to kick off and nothing. Like i can’t find a thing. Zilch. Nada. At worst it should be heavily promoted straight after SOO3…

I only know bits and pieces. Scheduled to kick off October 12 and run for 4 weeks.

Australia/NZ/Tonga in the Cup
PNG/Fiji/Cook Islands in the Bowl

There will be concurrent Women's matches, though like last year, they will be more disorganised messes then a proper tournament.

Jillaroos & Kiwi Ferns will play each other twice. Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, PNG & Cook Islands Women will each play at least 1 Test.

Australia v New Zealand pool game is scheduled for Christchurch, which is extremely underwhelming and caps the potential crowd to 16K.

I've heard Mt Smart & Hamilton for NZ v Tonga.

Fiji, as per last year's AusSports announcement, will host games for the Bowl.

I'm hearing Sydney's long international football drought is set to come to an end later this year.

The harbour city has been pencilled in to host the final of a Pacific Championship series after the grand final.

The series will see the Kangaroos do battle with the Kiwis and Tonga.

Brisbane, Christchurch and Auckland have been selected to play the preliminary games, with the final at Commbank Stadium in Parramatta in early November.

Christchurch AGAIN?!?

First the Warriors home-away-from-home game, now this.

Man, it sucks to be a league fan in Wellington right now - we're getting NOTHING :(

So, the Regulation play off is new?

The first placed Pacific Bowl team will play the lowest placed Pacific Cup team? That’s a fun way to get an extra game for what you assume would be PNG v Tonga as a part of a Triple Header there in Parramatta.

Good to see Australia play Tonga in Brisbane. First time Tonga has played in Australia since 2018, and thankfully it’s not in Campbelltown. Crowd will depend on Tongan fan base, but 30k would be a good result?

New Zealand will host matches in the 2024 Pacific Championships men’s and women’s tournaments to be played in October and November, in partnership with the NRL.

New Zealand Rugby League (NZRL) has confirmed two match days to take place in New Zealand, with Ōtautahi Christchurch’s Apollo Projects Stadium set to host a double header between the Kiwis, Kiwi Ferns, and rival Australian Kangaroos men’s and Jillaroos women’s teams on Sunday, October 27.

This will mark the Kiwis’ return to Christchurch for the first time in five years and the Kiwi Ferns’ first South Island Test since 1998.

The Kiwis will then face Tonga at Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s Go Media Stadium at Mt Smart on Saturday, November 2, while the Kiwi Ferns travel to Papua New Guinea to play the Orchids.

“It is a very special occasion to partner with Ōtautahi Christchurch and work with Canterbury Rugby League to take the Pacific Championships to our fans in the South Island for the first international fixtures there in five years,” NZRL CEO Greg Peters said.

“We’re excited to work with Tonga to bring their rugby league heroes back to play in front of their proud community in Auckland, with the support of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited making this possible.

“International rugby league in Aotearoa creates celebrations of culture and passion that captures the hearts and minds of all sports fans, the Tests here will be unmissable.”

Both teams head into this year’s international season on a high having convincingly defeated rivals Australia in their final matches last year. The thrilling games saw the Kiwis lift the Pacific Championship’s Pacific Cup in its inaugural year, with the Kiwi Ferns ending Australia’s seven-year streak of wins against them.

Pacific Championships schedule:

The 2024 Pacific Championships is a two-tiered competition, with men’s and women’s teams from across the Pacific competing for the Pacific Cup and the Pacific Bowl.

The Championships will include two match days in New Zealand, with the Grand Finals to be played in Australia.

Kiwi and Kiwi Ferns schedule:

Sunday 27 October

  • Pacific Cup – New Zealand v Australia (men and women) at Apollo Projects Stadium, Christchurch
Saturday 2 November

  • Pacific Cup – New Zealand v Tonga (men) at Go Media Stadium, Auckland
Sunday 3 November

  • Pacific Cup – New Zealand v Papua New Guinea (women) at Santos Stadium, Port Moresby

Any ideas why the Tongan team would like? Can’t help but think they might really struggle.

As an aside, RTS to Samoa is a big one.

RTS would have slid nicely into the vacant centre position left by Manu.

Don't worry about Tonga, at full strength they'll give Aussies and Kiwis a run for thier money.

Off the top of my head
