Rogers was our most consistent bat over the last 10 tests, that's why

HAH most probably will play if Warner isn't fit

Australia is at its best when we ignore the likes of Pat Howard and bunniesman who know SFA about cricket and select the best team possible and stick with players who have been consistent and part of a winning lineup. Rogers has done nothing to warrant being dropped and Hughes has done nothing to warrant yet another chance to fail.

Rogers will probably fade in the next 12 to 18 months but at this stage replacing him with an inconsistent player with obvious flaws against spin bowling or any bowler that can move the ball off the straight is crazy talk.

He played well in very difficult circumstances for batsmen. He has improved heaps against spin. He deserves a chance.

No but he's in Dubai. The journos that go on tour mingle with the team. They have a better idea of what's going on than the average bloke. Based on that article I do think it is at least a topic of discussion for the selectors. They may choose to go with Rogers but Hughes is in the conversation.

Hughes is in the conversation when he's one of three openers on tour and one of the others is carrying a niggle? No...
