I see Burts defense as a major problem, Simon says raises some good points. The only player in our backline that has not got a question mark over him is Mckinnon.

1. Mckinnon- excellent
2. Peterson defensive probs
3. Burt defensive probs
4.Tahu- I'll make my judgemeny when I see him play in the 3/4
5. Good player but Injury prone
6. moriss might handle it but speed will be a problem for him
7. PJ is not a half and Tim Smith, blake Green are untested.

That looks like a very flimsy backline that would just be runover by the opposition. Burt should not be in the side he is too inconsistant and has major Brain Explosions. I would put a young guy in there such as Inu or delaney or even Ben Smith Peterson has improved alot but i would not mind seeing John Williams get a go.

Are the dogs backline defence any better ? and they are the premiers :?

Patten - probably their best backline defender
Utai - ?
Tonga - misses more tackles on average than Burt per game
Harris - ?
ElMasri - ?
Anasta - ?
Sherwin - ?

An awesome mobile forward pack goes a long way me thinks.......

My team's defencive line up

Grothe/Tahu/Morris/Hindy/Robinson/Riddell/Stringer/Cayless/Morri/Wags/Petersen

Smith/Marsh

Mckinnon

I can't see a world of issues with that defencive line. Tahu in the centres might prove to be abit of an issue but there is always going to be a weak link in the chain.

Valid points for and against. I say bring on season 2005 to see who's on the money. IMO the eels to regain the confidence lost since 2001 and to reign supreme. Can't wait.

At least you didn't leak 754 points in 2004 like Manly. And it's not as though we've improved our backline any!

Father time Hill is our most notable addition.

I didn't think you recruitment was half bad until Hill came in the picture and spoilt the party.

a desperate knee jerk reaction from your coaching staff/management.

What is wrong with Hill?

He is on an incentive based re: small contract. If he performs, he gets paid, if he doesn't perform, he doesn't get paid.

It's win win, plus the wealth of knowledge he can pass on to Paul Stephenson and Ashley Alberts.

No offence to Manly, but Kennedy?

The guy CAN play great, but he is getting old, and he gets injured easily these days. Manly already have a great second rowwer/lock forward in Beaver - I hardly think BK would ease it.

Kennedy is another talker who no doubt is a quality player... Sure he has had his share of injury's, but how many players haven't...

I'm happy with our recruitment in the forwards. But the backs?????

We have Witt for Walker which is probably a 50/50 trade. We get slightly better defence and lose some attacking options.

We had buffoons like Torrens in the Centres. Yet we've let him go and replaced him with what?

1. A 33 year old player that retired a year ago with chronic knee injuries; and
2. 2 untried players from the Queensland Cup and Bartercard Cup.

Geez, be still my beating heart. We're bound to win the premiership with that lot. (Amazingly there is a rump of red necks that seriouslt believe Manly is a Top 4 side this year. Can you credit it? It's proiceless!!!!!)

I'll just sit here and wait for the "Least you guys don't have Jye Mullane" comment from the AE mob...

Thankfully Jye Mullane isn't in our side.

Even our staff isn't THAT dumb. You should hear what the chairman of the Board has to say about Mullane.

Be thankful that At least Burt is not in your team. We have to bare that curse.

And yet you believe that Witt is a great defender?

Do you actually watch Parramatta's games?

Witt is an OK defender its just he has NO Idea when it comes to attack. He has no creativity at all except for a few odd grubbers that Jag a try here or there. He lacks vision and being and Organiser. He is NOT A HALF BACK hence Manly are playing him at 5/8 next year.

And Yes i do watch Parra games, I hold season tickets and get out to as many Away games as much as I can. And if I can, I go to Junior games as well.

We will never win a comp while we have these crappy players in our team e.g. BURT!!!! Maybe you should get out to the games and open your eyes and see how many trys your mate Burty Leaks per game.

Tahu was paired with Matt Gidley, possibly the worst defender in the game at the moment. Hardly helped Tahu in defence. When he didn't play outside Gidley, which wasn't often, he was decent. Not great, but passable.

That is possibly the stupidist thing I have ever heard.
