I agree mate but I will be gutted if we don't make the 8 next year...this year is bad enough with our current playing roster and coaching setup.

Although I'm not under any illusions about the task ahead in the coaching staff and new playing roster gelling quickly to be successful.

The expectation, from this board at least, is that we hit the ground running so that becomes achievable.

2006, I think, is when we will be true contenders...all going well. [-o<

I don't see any reason for us not to be true contenders next year aside from high expectation. 2006 could well be the second year of a good run with any sort of luck.

All that said, softly, softly we go and where we finish no one will know. Expectation cast aside makes for a better feeling when the season ends.....

The only thing that worries me is that 4 of our main 5 buys have spend over half the season on the sideline. Hopefully a change in fortune for them and us is due though. There really are no excuses for us not making the 8 next yr. If it doesn't happen then Smith must stand out, we couldn't possibly get a better team on the park, he must take sole blame.

Morrison has returned, Tahu has had his surgery and should by all accounts resume training when everyone else does and PJ looks set to be given the all clear. Stringer looks the main problem, however this can be accomodated by the fact that Cayless, Cannings and Robinson will be on board and with luck fit to start the season. ;-)

I understand Eel Dude's concerns. That thought has crossed my mind also.

I think the best thing about these signings, apart from the individuals own ability, is that in the past they all stand up and are counted when the tough need to get going. PJ, Morrison, Stringer, Robbo and Riddell, are always putting there hand up when their team is struggling, and i think that our 80 minute game, and Tahu's 85% try per game strike rate will be something that will turn those 6 ten point losses this year into potential wins next year. thats as much as 12 points which means top 4... (hopefully...)

All I can say is that I heard that PJ sent an SMS to CC on Monday at 1 am saying, training tomorrow 7:30am at the Gym?

TT apparently became a member of the club on Tuesday.
