Once the ball was coughed up after the first minute when Hunt passed the ball towards Rava and Su'a and Rava knocked on then the Eels scored not long after I knew that was the start of the rot. It was a sort of double pump pass out wide by Hunt and maybe if it had've stuck in Rava's hand and we completed the set, things just might have turned out differently at the end of the game. We won't know now and its done and dusted and we made just too many errors to allow the Eels to scoot away to be well ahead on the scoreboard.

Losing the way we did was not how we would have liked. I don't think we would have won on the day anyway if things were not as they were as the Dragons do have a propensity to not come away winners against the Eels.

Yes, it's those little things that don't go our way that eventuates in us losing and we go back over the game and say all the what ifs and buts. We missed tackles when only a couple of weeks back we didn't, or missed a few, when we beat the Storm. If we just had some consistency after the Storm game, we might have been closer to wins against the Sharks and the Eels, but in saying that, Cronulla and Parra are two teams that generally have the wood over us.

We now cannot cry over spilt milk because the cats have licked it all up. The players just could not come up with the goods. These things happen in all sports - you cannot win them all not like bloody Scottie Scheffler who is relishing all of the wins he has achieved so far this year culminating in winning the jackpot prize of $25m US for winning the Fedex Cup. This guy is a great example of the saying, practise makes perfect and that is what he has done and he will become the fourth best golfer the US has produced I'd say. Sorry to get off the track.

I think Flanno was also upset with the fact that Trent Barrett out coached him on the day.

I did the sums a couple of years ago, the average roster turnover for the Tigers anyway, hovers at about 27-28% per season.

So in the vicinity of about 10 fresh faces which is substantial when you think about it.

I think SGI would be about the same.

I’m interested in how Flanno will re-establish Cooks dominance and what he thinks he needs to inject some marquee back into his game. I’d think we all agree he’s a smart footballer. He can sniff out an opportunity, whether he can capitalise on it is a valid question.

Allen should be available as well.

The moment was simply too big for them. Deep down the older players felt they had over achieved. The Fegai’s are backups, not first graders.

Bird did his best but would have rather seen LKT from the start of the game. Has the attacking skills, may have taken some pressure away from Hunt.

The team missed young Flanno’s defence.

Hunt as always, when put under pressure failed to take the game by the scruff of the neck

Yes, and even if he picked up the ball and ran, he would have been caught 20-30 metres down the ground - better than nothing I guess but if it was a fleet footed winger other than Rava, it might have resulted in a try. All ifs and buts and the reality is Rava balls it up resulting in the Eels subsequently scoring.

If Rava is selected to play and named in the 17 of todays teams list, I'll go nuts.

Parra the team coming 2nd last scored 9 tries to the Dragons 7 (5 in the last 10 mins). Parra also missed 5 conversions so the score with a decent kicker should have hit 50. Some of the kicks missed were not difficult kicks. Lomax booting all his conversions helped the scoreline. The score flattered the Dragons which is scary. There is no defending this weak performance, the team is not a finals team and showed us all why they are on -120 at this stage of the season and in the 8 was an anomaly. No team should make the 8 with a differential of -124. I think since the end of round 2 Saints have been negative. That first big win against the Titans and then 38-0 thrashing the following round against the Dolphins in Rd 2, was a sign of things to come for 2024.

This game showed that Flanno needs to clean out more players than we think or start throwing in youngsters. The youngsters that won the GF in the Flegg will have a better mentality I feel that the current boys in FG that have won nothing as the Flegg boys handled the pressure. A lot to look forward to in the future for us fans if these youngsters progress. Shane definitely needs a new half and leader. Saints have no hope with Ben in charge. The best No.9 in the comp by a mile (maybe Api can give him a run) playing No.7. I bet if he leaves for another club they will make him play 9.

I think we and Flanno expected a lot more from them but their inconsistency across the whole squad because of a number of things including weak talent, weak leadership, weak defence, weak attack, weak minds and attitude, etc brought about results as have occurred this season.

Our minus differential showed of course that our defence was terrible and our attack not great.

I'm expecting that we will be more consistent with our games on the good side - defend and attack better next season. Dean Young needs to ensure that our defence is vastly improved, otherwise, goodbye.

If we can improve the cattle in the positions needed for next year, we might actually get into the top 8 with some comfort.

What absolutely angers me about the players and their mistakes - always at a critical moment in the game - is that they have been playing the game for years yet , they behave like a bunch of amateurs .

Yet here they are , many on damn good money and so called professional rugby league players making the same pathetic mistakes that you would see in a school boy match .

There is simply no excuse for them and if I was Flanagan I would had bloody well horse-whipped the lot of them !
