What a damned way to end the season. What a damned waste of another year. What will I be like following this mob of pretenders next year when I'm just only hanging in there and my lungs are slowly closing up?

Our end of seasons have been diabolical for too many years. The fun following the Dragons is falling away rapidly.

Flanno was optimistic for a while and so were we, but the players just let us down in so many ways. Yes, they will have an end of year booze up somewhere while we lament with sadness.

I don't know how we will go next year. I'm worried that it will end like this year, maybe worse because there is something really lacking and a complete overhaul is needed and if nothing is done in respect of that, then woe betide.

Geez mate, I feel like I've attended a funeral. My prayer goes something like this...
Dragons were great blokes and played with style and grace (stop laughing). They had their ups and downs and succumbed right at the end to an eel virus.
May they find peace now away from the journalists' ire.
Let us hope they are anointed in the next season when they resurrect their once proud name.
My thoughts are with the supporters they left behind.
The Saints will be marching again.

Amen

I’ll cut him a bit of slack . Defense is always compromised when possession is not valued & some players are just not NRL standard.
This. I know everyone here hates Dean for some reason that escapes me but geez I don't know how he can blamed for one on one misses that a division 3 under 15's player might make (and be dropped for the following week).
I'm yet to see evidence that the actual systems are wrong. I see plenty of evidence that certain repeat offenders miss basic one on one tackles that no system can defend once the line is broken.

Having said all of that as I've said in another post, if i was SF I would be hunting the very best defensive coach in the NRL and poaching him. Something needs to change. The same thing has happened way too many times this year. By my calculations even just a six point better defensive effort per game this year would have meant we would have been sitting in 8th spot this week. One try, one goal. How many pathetically easy tries did we give away this season?

Did LKT get any game time ?

If so, how did he go ?
Did far more on Sat than in his two 10 minute cameos so far. Played a part in getting the ball to the backline in the last 10 minutes with quick hands and selective passing. Was in a little but of space twice, but ran down easily both times. I think he can be faster, but had lactose legs from nerves / lack of game time by the look of it.

not sure if this has been mentioned yet or not, i just watched the first 10-15 mins this morning as i missed it on saturday. When there was that 2nd tackle mix up from the kick-off, did you see hunt absolutely spray ravalawa, Rava started walking towards him like he was going to clock him and lomax stopped him and he went back to his wing. You cannot tell me that is a happy culture. This would never happen at another team.

Shows what a leader our 'captain' is yes Rava made a dumb error like he always does but can you imagine his mindset after already feeling bad about that, his captain publicly sprays him in front of the whole team? WTF is that. All 3 of them should be gone next year. Hunt, Lomax and Rava.

I do remember it. You are drawing a very long bow there. The spray was not that bad but no doubt his confidence was rocked (self inflicted?)
Rava was walking in thinking to pack in a scrum or go to marker which he does at times
But nice story anyway
BTW Gutho & Munster are good for a spray on camera every week

I have no doubt Ravalawa is very much on the outer.. on and off the field.. I have sympathy for him.. it cant be easy having your career on the decline.. but the defensive reads have always been bad, but he has not gotten on board with the team this year, and thats on him..... if anything his defensive reads have regressed.. there was a few I can remember in NSW Cup that were diabolically bad.. this was always the danger bringing him back into 1sts, but i thought he would handle the big slow Sivo OK, but for got gods sake.. the big fat winger sh*t all over us.. of all the players to do so.. I thought he was the weakest link.

The errors though were the whole team, I have always felt it would be wonderful to have a few more guys with good hands though.. I watch a lot of other teams who throw bad passes.. and most of the time they still get caught.. for us they get knocked on way too often.. which puts us under a heap of pressure.

We had them stripped for numbers aswell. Sloan and Lomax were outside sivo who rushed in. I honestly think Flanno was explaining that exact play in his post game 'spray' because Hunt chose the wrong option, it shouldve went out the back to Sloan and we wouldve been away. You can almost lipread Flanno pointing at Hunt twice and preety much saying YOU effed that play up
