Could be the uniforms I guess.

More the fact we can't wrestle and lose every ruck.

Alright I'm home and these are my thoughts (Focusing mostly on the 2nd half due to both teams being closer to full strength):

First Half we played our weaker side against a bunch of much weaker nuffies/no names. We looked ok and scored some soft tries. Kenny Edwards looked our best in the first half. I was disappointed he didn't get a run in the 2nd half.

2nd half
As mentioned previously against good sides we just can't win the ruck and slow down the play the balls. This has been a problem for ages and was still evident tonight. Manly looked twice as fast as us because we just couldn't dominate the ruck. Our defence in the middle is shit. People are saying our front row is fairly strong but i disagree

I was sitting on our left side at ground level (making it hard for me to tell who was at fault) but it was our right side that leaked most if not all the points. The right side was Toutai, Kelly, Hoppa and i think Ben Smith. Staggs mentioned Toutai was at fault but I couldn't tell from where i was sitting so not sure? Anyway Manly looked like scoring every time they went down our right side. They could have scored more if it wasn't for some forward passes.

Hayne's 'forward' pass to semi was definitely not forward. I was right in line 10m away. Im not sure if we would have scored off it but manly went on a rampage afterwards. Other than that Hayne was fairly quiet. He only played 25min or so

Besides one horrendous mistake Tonga actually looked good at left centre. Made some breaks and put Semi into space a few times. Hope he stays injury free.

Hoppa looked solid. Made some good tough tackles and did some dirty work hit ups. It won't take him long to be back to his best.

I don't rate Pauli. Defence is still an issue and has very loose carries which lead to errors

Peats and Norman were ok and neither of Kelly or Sandow outplayed the other.

No beer pissed me off. I think Jamil Hopoate was there with his dad and some other brothers and did not punch anybody

Thats all i can think of right now. Any questions il answer a few

Look at the starting tight forwards (as listed on the club's website) - Mannah, Peats, Moimoi, Paulo.

Peats wrestles well for a little bloke, but that doesn't mean he wrestles well. Mannah is average, and Moimoi and Paulo are both poor in the wrestle. We need at least one of Lussick and Allgood on the field at any given time. Hopefully Mossop gets back soon as well.

He was playing left edge near where I was sitting. He made some strong carries into the opposition. Did not really get any space to work in. I would have liked to have seen how kenny edwards went against the stronger opposition

Yea I was watching Peats try to wrestle. He tends to lie on players rather than wrestle. He gave away a penalty or two and probably could have been pinned for a few more. Paulo's defence has not improved.

Mannah makes good contact but ur right in that he is only ok in the wrestle

We can't afford to carry a player like J Paulo in the 17, surprised BA is still persisting with him.

With injuries to Mossop, Allgood, Tanginoa and Loko it's hardly surprising. I don't think he should be a regular player but he is experienced. Pauli is far from ready.

Why is that?

I apologise in advance if this was already repeated..

* manly played atleast 10 more players than we did

* manly played their B team inthe first half we also had a weaker side but in a scrappy affair we easily accounted for them..

* we played a stronger side inthe second including hayne, tonga, hoppa and redradra whilst manly played their A team which included the Stewart brothers, watmough, foran DCE..they dominated possession and exploited toutais wing which was awful, hoppa only made it look better..

* pou asked who were our backrowers? Mau played left and Gower right edge in the first half both played well whilst Pauli and smith played the second half and looked out of sorts against a better side.

* I thought Norman went ok without being brilliant and peats was tough but took some wrong options at times

* hayne was ok and played 25 minutes

* our front rowers put in and Edwards inthe first half went strong

I'll give tonight's performance a pass mark but only just, but for the love of god keep vai away from first grade!! Please..

Vai is shit, he's absolutely got nothing other than a bit of strength. Not good enough.
