Why Jess? :hg:
This is what sport is about........passion.
It's truly what we lack in this country to make all sports an even greater spectacle because tbh, atmosphere in this country at sporting events sucks.
There is absolutely no doubt we as fans should give it to Melbourne in spades.
Honestly, f**k 'em.
I know it ain't ALL the players fault blah blah blah, but seriously, we are going to this game to see the Eels win, and we should do whatever possible to make sure that happens.
Support our team, and give the opposition as much hell as possible.
That is our duty.
Suity
I agree with the above, for sure.
When I think about the Melbourne Storm and their pathetic cheating, I don't really care if the players were implicit in the cheating, or if the 'big four' failed to add their
two contracts up to realise they Storm might be over the cap, or if there was a lone CEO devising it all etc.....This will come out in time and the truth will be hopefully revealed
What I
do care about is that the team I have supported my whole life, the team that I have seen lose plenty of heartbreaking finals games since our last GF in 1986 were beaten by a side that was $700,000 over the cap in a Grand Final we could have won.
When I think about that $700,000, and how many players we could have added to the side, or what players they would lose from their squad, it makes me even more angry. When I think that we could have, should have won that GF if the Storm were not cheating, it p#sses me off.
I want to vent my frustrations at the Storm and how unfair their cheating was. The players still represent the club, and I (and I am sure many others) are angry at the club.
It will probably manifest itself just as a Boo when they come onto the field, and an even more rewarding sense of satisfaction if we beat this side (which in 2010 is approaching $1million over the cap if not more), but why treat them like an ordinary side - they are not. It is the reason they have been booted from the competition.
If Inglis doesn't like it, he can can seek solitude in his Speed Boat out on the Yarra (purchased outside the cap), or if Cameron Smith is upset can make himself a comforting cup of tea in his kitchen rennovated for free (and outside the cap). They are big boys and will be on $500k or more regardless of where they end up.
