Good take by Gafa as he fields a bomb sent into the sun.

Massive run from Fuimaono in Gafa's wake as well! He bursts through and goes 50m downfield before earning a penalty.

Elkander takes the run from the restart. Twal has a great run to follow and draws a second penalty! Big chance for Parra now with half time looming.

Markus is up first this time around. Doolan gets pulled down on the second with Aaron Pene used to resettle the set. Josh Grant scoots out of dummy half and gets nailed. We go right where Fuimaono goes agonisngly close before Dockar-Clay undoes all the good work with another poor grubber that lets the Panthers get a 20m kick return. Just terrible options to close out our attacking sets from ZDC and Izzard today.

Forward pass from the Panthers now down our left edge. 20 seconds left on the clock. We kick ahead for French. The Panthers clean it up and are in turn cleaned up with the siren ringing.

Luke Burt pulls Michael Doolan and Josh Aloiai aside to give them a play call update it looks like before they head into the sheds.

Half Time

Parra trail Penrith 0-18.

Teams are out for the second half, Parra to receive the ball.

Doolan fields the ball and turns it inside to Twal. Aloiai has a bustling carry next and Pene follows with a good carry of his own to take the ball to half way.

Dockar-Clay takes the ball down the right and turns it back inside to Elkander before we bomb it on the last. It is well taken by the Penrith custodian but the chase pins him 5m off his line.

Solid first up defensive set that sees French field the ball on his 20m line. Oloapu and Miski have pressure relieving carries before Twal is unleashed! I missed who through the money ball but it was a terrific pass! Twal rumbles into the fullback and offloads to Pene who rolls around to gain some more metres.

Parra then go to their right where Fuimaono crashes onto the ball and then offloads. It gets a bit messy but we eventually get it out to our right where Aloiai scores a most deserving try!

The conversion is good.

Miski with the kick off reception now. He links up with Twal immediately though.

Aloiai continue to carry defenders with each carry now. Aaron Pene follows him up down the right.

Fuimaono has a run but the ball comes out somehow despite no attempted offload and in a bitterly-amusing twist, Penrith get their own penalty to follow it up for a strip.

And they hit back immediately as their #4 crashes between Clay and Fuimaono to score. Soft try again but gee they shouldn't have had the possession.

The conversion is good.

Penrith regain the 18 point lead at 24-6

Better defensive set now. Some great contact from Aloiai and Elkander through it. Gafa fields the kick from Cleary with ease but Parra put together a pretty ordinary set which culminates in Dockar-Clay panicking on the last and bombing five metres forwards to the left edge but failing to put his chasers on side...

Penrith swing the ball from our left to our right and go on to score a decidely fortuitous try. With nothing doing they try to grubber it in goals. It deflects on both feet off a forward, maybe Aloiai and pops up perfectly for the kicker who reaches out to score. Hint of a bobble there but the ref awards the try. Penrith making some luck here today.

The conversion is good.

Penrith lead 30-6.

Knock on from Penrith now. Parra will pack down for the scrum feed 10m into the visitor's half.

French attacks down the right from the scrum and earns a penalty.

Fuimaono and Elkander take the first carries of the new set. Elkander gets a penalty with his carry and a caution comes out against the Panthers.

Parra quickly shift it down their left where French cuts out Oloapu to hit Miski. Penrith quickly slide on him and Miski offloads back to Oloapu who makes a tremendous sorties back to the posts! He fends pass several defenders before setting sail for the posts and carries 3 or 4 defenders over as he slams it down! What a fantastic effort.

The conversion is good.

Signs of life for the Eels as they trail 12-30

57min gone.

Twal gets the kickoff carry once more. Aloiai continues to impress as he takes 15m off the Panthers up the middle.

Oloapu and Markus get carries as we bring up the last and Doolan stabs it in behind where it is cleaned up on the bounce by the Penrith fullback.

Solid set of defence and damn it if that wasn't a chance blown! Penrith run it on the last and Oloapu reaches up to pluck out the long ball! He gets a good play at it but it just pops out of his fingers for a knock on. He was away as well!

Good defence from gafa now. Made a solid 1-on-1 on his opposite. We come undone back towards to posts where some nice ball-play between the Penrith bookends sees them exploit a gap in our ruck defence.

The conversion is good.

Penrith lead the Eels 36-12

Good take by Miski as he fields the kick over his shoulder.

Oloapu offloads to Doolan who pinches a few metres. We get to our kick on the last where Doolan sends up the torpedo bomb but it is well taken by the #1 for Penrith.

Another error from Penrith know as for once one of their offloads goes awry.

Parra try to score from the scrum win as they commit a backline move at full throttle. There is a half chance there as as a result as French tries to bat the ball onto Gafa but it is correctly called forwards.

Parra hold out now as the Panthers hurl themselves at the line. Play breaks down for the Panthers on the last but they somehow get to their kick but knock the ball in the contest.

Change over for the Eels.

Good set in reply by the Eels as the roll downfield with Doolan completing the set by finding touch 10m out from the Penrith goal line.

Penrith find touch at the end of their following set. Mark is set at 15m off our goal line.

10min on the clock as the scrum packs down. Miski gets the first carry, Gafa follows. Fuimaono jumps out of dummy half on the third before Tepu-Smith takes the ball over halfway.

Aloiai is turned inside on the fourth and makes more great metres after contact but on the last the bomb from ZDC is far too deep and it taken uncontested.

Ball pops out from a Penrith carry and Tepu-Smith scoops it up. Parra shift the ball to their right where ZDC sends Fuimaono back to the ruck. It turns out to be a terrible option as Fuimaono takes the tackle and goes down clasping his left knee. He somehow gets to his ffet to play the ball but he is in a bad way and times comes off.

Eventually he is helped to his feet by trainers and he walks off but it didn't look pretty on first glimpse.

Our left edge is tacked on the restart of play but we continue to ignore it and direct the ball to the right edge. Frustrating stuff.

ZDC continues to boggle the mind as he takes it right on the last and uses Markus on a crash line. What the f**k? Seriously.

Penalty for Penrith now as the come out from their goal line.

Committed defence from the Eels. Aaron Pene has pushed out to the right edge with the injury to Fuimaono and he makes a great cover tackle before Msiki cleans up the attacking grubber.

Scoreline isn't flattering but there has been plenty of ticker today.

Penalty for the Eels now as Pene cops a high shot. That came up some nifty work from French in the kick return.

A second penalty comes and now tempers flare up. A scuffle breaks out in the ruck and the ref blows his whistle 2 or 3 times before the teams separate.

Captains are called out and a Penrith player gets binned for his involvement in the fracas. Gets put on report as well so I do wonder what happened.

Tom Amone gets the first run before Aloiai shreds defenders for a big run down the left! He is pulled down but gee he has played well.

We go back right with Amone before Doolan grubbers in behind the right. Mad scramble for the ball but the Panthers get there first and boot it dead.

30 seconds on the clock.

The drop out comes and Twal gets the first run. We spread the ball to Miski on the left, this will be the last play so the Eels keep the ball alive and take it to their right. The long pass gets a touch from Penrith and we get the ball back and reset play before Izzard burts through out of nowhere! He has French on his left but he looks the wrong way! Oh no! He is brought down and that does it as French puts his hands on his head in frustration!
