holy shit, the boys are going well

Ball wasn't even close to full strength either. Travis Turnbull was iced for the week after rolling his ankle, Johnny Fonua was missing (not sure on the injury), Sean Keppie is getting game time with the Senior Talent Squad today in preparation for a return from a broken hand and Jesse Cronin is close to returning as he recovers from a severe concussion. Bear in mind that the vast majority of the squad are 17-year-olds playing up against 18-year-olds as well.

Harold Matthews are in terrific shape, both form and roster wise, coming into the last few regulation season rounds.

Watched th Western Acadeemy side get rolled today by Newcastle 74-0, no wonder the club is reluctant to utilise this system which in reality is under the Riff banner as it is played and trained at St Marys leagues. The coaching staff etc are basically from Penrith and play what in the juniors is regarded as a Penrith style.Think Parra have only placed about 6 or so boys in the squad

No backline structure, all the forwards are big boys who run out of puff early, and they got stepped around and ran ragged by a rangy, athletic team with virtually no islander influence.

Line sped was terrible, and just thought it highlighted areas where we seem to have moved in not relying on bash and barge up the middle in junior reps. On reflection it seems that deciding to run with a senior talent squad rather than place players just outside the top 25 in the WASA Ball team will pay better dividends
