Tepu-Smith up first again with Muna is his wake. Izzard goes to Clay who finds Oloapu down the right. Tui carries defenders to just sort of the line. Miski has a go from dummy half with Fuimaono taking a crash ball one off the ruck.

Izzard bombs our left edge and Davis gets a huge check. The ref signals a 20m restart before changing his mind to give the Eels a deserved penalty.

Muna heads in field from the tap restart and a great run from Tepu-Smith gets him over the line but he is held up. Bit unlucky there, very good run.

Sloppy work from Clay down the right again, he has to field his own pass in the end. Nearly a turnover but on the next tackle we earn a penalty for holding down in the tackle.

Fuimaono up first this time. Raeli next. Clay down the left now hitting Muna flat and then Alec Bush catches the markers flat out snoring as he scores from dummy half! That was S-A-W-F-T, SAWFT!

As many have said , ZDC just hasn't got any better, he is taking some awful options and passing behind the ruck.. Needs to step up even at this level

Deep kickoff from the Tigers but Izzard takes it well and uses Tepu-Smith. Reimis Smith makes a handy gain, as does Paula Kaufusi.

Raeli gets over halfway but Davis cops a pretty ordinary pass from Izzard heading into contact and the Eels turn it over.

Some lazy work at marker by some interchange forwards there but we get away with it and French simply guides the grubber from the Tigers over the deal ball line.

20m restart.

Twal and Raeli work the ball out. Kaufusi is turned on Clay's inside and on the next play Zach springs to life as he slices through the middle. He comes to the fullback and then hits French on his left but he might have passed a smidgen early there and French is stopped inches before the line.

The Eels spin it to their right where the Tigers get a hand to the ball and Parra will get the scrum feed.

French ends up with the ball on the scrum win as the Eels attack down their left to no avail. They go right then left but some awful passes ruin the raid and Clay is under massive pressure to get a kick in. He does but the Eels knock on in the contest for a turnover. Abysmal set.

Big linebreak for the Tigers now and although the Eels eventually bring the #24 down he made a massive in road.

Markus I think it was does extremely well to bring down a big forward on a nice inside ball and after holding out a runner on the next tackle, the last tackle we get the ball back.

Another nice dart from ZDC, run first needs to be in his mind. Davis finally gets some early ball and steams over his opposite but is then pulled down. Izzard sends up a mid field bomb that both teams left bounce and although Miski gets to it first he is tackled without getting the ball away for a turnover.

Eels dodge a bullet there. Alofi runs right through the ruck via a lovely inside ball but the support can't hold onto his would-be try scoring pass.

Parra will get a scrum feed 10m off their line with second to go.

They venture a set move from the scrum win with French sweeping out the left and offloading to Davis. Nathan is a stride or two away from a clean break but the Tigers do well to bring him down and thus end the first half.

Half Time

Parra trails the Tigers 6-10

Parra to receive the pill in the second half. Will want a much improved effort mind you.

Clay brings in the ball and turn to Raeli for the opening run. Kaufusi runs and offloads to Clay on the second but Zach drops it...Tigers right on the attack. *sigh*

And it takes them all of three or so tackles to cross as they run right through our right edge this time with their big backrower in the #12 powering through the tackles of Oloapu and Raeli.

Certainly not the start to the half we needed or wanted.

The conversion is successful.

West Tigers lead the Eels 16-6

42min gone.

Finally the Tigers get a clean kick off reception. Hooray...

Tidy set after points as Smith secures the kick off his second attempt.

Davis aids teh forwards as the runs in field with Miski doing much the same on the next tackle. Really not much doing and Bush bizarrely runs it from dummy half on the last and is caught for a turnover. What is going on?

Just poor stuff from the Eels...the Tigers chip in behind and regather which is fair enough but the Eels have a chance to dive on his loose pass and only manage to give the Tigers a new set of six.

Fortunately Davis or Smith come up with an interception on the next play to relieve copious amounts of pressure but the Eels fail to complete their set near halfway with a knock on.
