Daoud is belted by a good hit as he sweeps to our right-edge. He plays the ball but then goes down sucking in the big ones but he is alright. Two tackles later, Clay picks up the ball from dummy half and steps to his right and then to his left leaving defenders either side of him before he burrows between two more under the posts to score a great individual try.

Gorman adds the 2 points.

Parra lead the Sharks 26-16

Cronulla start their set on their 30m line and focus their game on the middle third. They run down our right-edge short side on the last and run a grubber though but Tuitahi does well to dive on it and kill the play.

The locals are baying for blood after a series of good offloads from Parra that they are deeming forward. Good times.

Parra complete a good set in attack and back it up with a excellent set in defence. Diamond Charlie in particular does well as he cuts a Shark in half on the second last tackle.

The Sharkies fullback shows some sharp hands to clean up Gorman's grubber on the last but the kick chase is excellent and pins him just inside the field of play.

Good chance here for our boys as the referee nails Cronulla for a second effort in the tackle.

Clay goes close as he proves to be very difficult to bring down. Ualesi tries to get his arms free for another offload but Cronulla are now awake to the threat he presents and get their hands all over it. He loses control of the ball as he comes down in the tackle and Cronulla will have a scrum 10m out from their line.

58m gone.

Solid effort from Makelim there to clean up a good kick and make a few hard metres.

Parra focues on rucking it out this set, the only deviation from that is a good offload from Diamond Charlie that earns Parra 5 more metres.

They complete their set with a nice kick that finds touch at the Sharkies 20m line.

And a good reward for that kick as Cronulla lose the ball on their 30m line!

Folau takes the hit up from the scrum and it takes 3 to eventually pull him down. We attack down our right-edge and go close as Makelim links up with Sean Jackon on an overs line but the Cronulla defence is excellent.

On the last Gorman darts to the left but changes the direction of the play as he grubbers back to the right, wrong footing the Cronulla fullback and forcing a knock on.

Parra scrum 10m out.

Good back line move there ends up with Sam Maneluna crossing in the corner once more.

Good direct lines from Ualesi and Makelim before they hit their outside men kept the goal line defence honest and opened up the space on the sideline for Maneluna who had no problems finishing off a lovely movement.

Gorman is struggling from out wide tonight, he has the direction but the ball dies before it can go over the cross bar.

Parra lead Cronulla 30-16

Daoud fishes for a 40/20 but the fullback is awake to the play and swiftly moves to secure the skidding ball.

Cronulla are building towards a good fifth tackle option but lose the ball on the fourth tackle to give Parra a scrum on their 20m line.

Oh my. First Broadhurst juggles the ball and nearly loses it then on the next play we go one better and actually turn the ball over!

Cronulla scrum on our 20m line.

They attack our left before centering the ball. They venture down our left one more time running down our right on the last. Their #4 cuts back towards the posts but is confronted by a wall of blue and gold and puts in a nothing kick that is easily taken by Maneluna.

Brutal run there from Maneluna as he retrieves the ball from his in goals. Knocked over two as he fought his way back to 5m out from the in goals.

A quick play the ball gives Makelim a chances to have a sniff around the ruck but he is pulled down in a desperate tackle by the retreating defence.

Makelim is cool and collected under the high as 3 chasers zero in on him. He takes it well before getting cleaned up.

Good stuff there.

Daoud makes a decent run down the short side by the Sharks scramble well and contain him.

We try to screw the kick into touch with a right spin bias but it is taken by the Sharks winger.

They chip in on the last via their #6 and he regathers it perfectly, Makelim rushes him to prevent his support catching up in time and takes his legs out in a good tackle. He throws a wild offload that is knocked on by one of his supporters and Parra will get the play-the-ball.

We then earn a penalty.

77m gone.

Sharks earn a late penalty for Parra infringing on the 10m and will get a chance to improve F/A

Tuitahi gets a hand to a cutout ball that would otherwise have ended in a try. 6 again for the Sharks.

Great commitment and desperation there from our boys...need to see more of it on our goal line!

Cronulla end up running the ball dead as Makelim shepherds the ball over the dead ball line.

Parra ruck it out to finish the game as the full time siren rings out,

Full time

Parramatta df. Cronulla

30-16

Good second half from the boys! And now if you will all excuse me I know have to socialise with my boss and some clients. :(
