You are so considerate Pou ... forty would have ended up looking like a prize dick talking about some random string shit .... instead you look like a prize dick for not editing the mistake - amongst other things
Never could understand the string theory but good to see someone here who does so he might explain it to us one day. Go Pou!

It wasn't me who Labeled the kid But
I think were all guilty of labeling young players, Young players might resemble or do things that identifies them with similar traits to players that play in those positions.
Latrell Mitchell - Greg Inglis
Joe Tipari - Shaun Jonston
Tui Afalou -Steve Matai
Kyle Schneider - Cam Smith

Personally I think the kid is still young & has plenty of development in him, Although he is miles off even being mention in the same breath as one of the greatest players of all time, He is so far ticking all the boxes required.
I think the next 2-3 years will give us an indication where the kids is at & that will determine where he will end up.
Although we don't like to put unnecessary pressure on the young kids its a bit hard not to like and admire there potential. But right now that's all it is.

There are some fantastic kids coming through our program and its a bit hard not to get excited. But they all have something in common, There all young with plenty of time to develop.

Ray Stone - GL - Noel Aukafolou - Jye Challenor - Anthony Layoun - Reed Mahoney

Filia Utoikamanu - Tui Afualo - Noel Aukafolou - Haze Dunster - Salisi Finanga - Steve Dressler - Sean Keppie - Oregon Kaufusi - Ethan Parry - Jesse Cronin - Joe Tipari - Michael Tupou

Dylan Brown - Stefano Utoikamanu - Kyle Schneider - Matt Doorey - JP Norah - William Kei - Charbel Tasipali - Vallance Harris - Harry Duggan

Sam Hughes - David Hollis - Tyler Field - Jed Edwards - Albert Faavae - Christian Wihongi - Bailey Biondi Odo.
What happened to Dressler and Challenor? Touted as the next big things to be our future props but neither featured in U20s final. Were both injured?

Cancel Challenor, read a few posts later that he was released so obviously not the next big thing.

Challenor was never the next big thing, he was just big. Dresler was supposed to have NRL potential though. Got injured early this year though. Whom knows what his future holds?

Got down to the Saleyards on a steamy Saturday morning to watch the junior reps first hit out for the year against the Wests Magpies

Matts put in their usual age group dominating performance, something like 7 tries to 0. an impressive front row of Peter Taatea and Trey Mooney , with a hooker from Windsor Wolves looking sharp. The halves of Jakob Arthur and Des Raukete controlled both sides of the ruck. Arthur of the left with a very handy kicking game. Raukete a strong defender with a good passing game. The 2 wingers were too fast and powerful when given the ball, both looked of African background - Ngarimu Harte and Apasora Kuracake if I got their names correct. The back up props also showed up, so a strong performance over all

I left after the first 20 minutes of Ball , as the heat was uncompromising, which was similar to the first game of last year, disjointed and ordinary. Was told they lost 7 tries to 1 , which while disappointing it was a second string team with at least 10 players out. The halves and ruck control was missing, as were the players expected to be there in the New Year. Wests turned up and played almost as if it were a finals match, with the Eels side looking much like a trial team and the result reflected it. Last year they lost to Wests 5-1 in the same trial, still went on to win th comp so no panic required.

Thanks Dell. Much appreciated. Im guessing these impressive props are tall buggers? Id like to think the wingers are as well.

Gazza, difficult to comment on Ball as not many of those on show Saturday are expected to make the final squad

The 2 Matts wingers would be around 6 foot, Trey Mooney is tall and strong, Peter Taatea is in the Junior Paulo mound. Mika Tonu who came off the bench is all of the above up front, there would be 6 players who played Matts last year in the team.

Going to be an interesting year, spoke to one of the parents whose son plays at Hills Sports, said Manly with the players they have signed from our district and the Riff are big and strong, the Dogs will be competitive. Will be interesting to see Penrith as they are expected to step up after a disappointing outing last year.

Disagree, NSW has higher quality hookers for that age group. Robson, Radley, Starling etc.
What's the age group got to do with it? This is the emerging Origin squad. Some of those blokes are 24 next year, including hooker Michael Lichaa.
QLD's best hooker is obviously Harry Grant, but Mahoney is not far behind if he continues his good form. Much better then Woolf.
Queensland's best hooker is Cameron Smith, followed by McCullough, Friend, Granville and Ben Hunt. I doubt anyone under 27 is even going to be considered for a spot. The Maroons are right at dummy half for at least the next five years.

Because the qld one was picked for players under 20. The NSW one was all ages.

A big congratulations to Kyle Schneider on his selection in the 2018 Emerging Blues Squad. Looks like the youngest selected.
https://www.nswrl.com.au/news/2017/12/19/2018-emerging-blues-squad-named/

Great achievement - But the kid is only 17yo.
Is he to young.?
Some exciting players on that list.
He has obviously impressed the powers to be, I'm guessing the focus will be development and skills based which cant hurt as Parramatta and Nsw will benefit from this.
Does anyone have any in site or know a little more about the kid
Time will tell

I doubt many (if any) of these blokes are in danger of being picked next year. But Schneider has obviously impressed for the under 18s Blues and Fittler wants him involved with this 'emerging' stuff. By all accounts Schneider has the maturity of a bloke twice his age. He'll look like Jeff Robson by the time he is 20.

I see Mahoney is training with the top squad for pre-season. What happens after that is he a Parra contracted player like Stone or Wenty?
