Parramatta Eels Juniors

No real standout team in the Matts. Panthers were marginally better than us. In SG Ball Canberra was the standout team, though the 6th placed Roosters (playing later today) had an even better points differential. They are the dark horse.

In the Parr v Sharks HM game the sharks had a guy named Singh. ....First Indian?
Parra should have the first Indian player.
Cronulla also had a guy name Wardrobe. Which made me laugh.

Yeah Wardrobe gave me a giggle too. Kept thinking of the talking wardrobe in Beauty and the Beast.
Not sure if it was Matts or Ball but the long haired 13 went ok. Never f'n stopped. Ray Price clone. Was he Sangalang(sp)?

@Gazzamatta Tyson Sangalang. Of the few times I’ve seen Matts play this year he’s been very strong. The Hooker Zaidus Muagututia goes real well too.
Matts much more convincing than Ball but like @Poupou Escobar said. The Maggies were f'n huge. Number 8 was massive and had a great motor as well. Id be checking out his contract status and also the Maggies 1. Along with number 8 he was up there with the best on field. Not sure how we won that game but Ill take it.

Wests 8 is Jordan Miller who I think they’ve locked up for a while. He’s one of the gun juniors old Sheensy was skiting about in the papers earlier this year. Went to Fairfield Pats but I don’t believe he was ever an Parra junior.

It makes sense that we are coming back to strong junior ‘development’ when you look at PLC spending on footy:

2016: $9.1M
2017: $6.3M
2018: $8.3M
2019: $10.0M
2020: $5.9M
2021: $7.5M
2022: $11.8M

Performance lags spending by about a year, and we’ve had two periods in recent years where we’ve had to significantly cut spending, 2017 (administration) and 2020 (Covid). Hopefully we can maintain this level of investment and catch up to the wealthier clubs in ‘developing’ (poaching) junior talent.

I recently posted a link to a podcast which previewed last weeks junior reps semis. In that pod they discussed quickly who ^^^^ from these sides were brought in from other parts of Sydney, NSW Country and Qld. Quite a lot is the answer.
