Those times look mostly spot on but I've heard conflicting reports on whether the trials are at Chester Hill or Revesby. Delboy might jump in here and straighten it out today but I will be able to confirm everything tomorrow regardless.

The Matts has been scheduled for a 12.00 pm kick off, there will be 2 teams playing 25 minutes each. They are a mixture of the squads, not first and second teams

Looks like the first choice halves could be missing as both are recovering from small ops and will be Ok after Xmas. Understand the country signings will put in a shift

The15 development look strong, should be interesting to watch

The Matts age group teams have been undefeated since starting in the 14s development, but a number of players have been poached etc by Tigers and Moanly

Will confirm properly later as just going off a text message

Cheers to Rugby League Fan, Delboy, and Forty. I'll definitely be down there watching all 4 games. Can't wait to see big David Hollis for the first time, hopefully he's playing.

Should be able to see Hollis, Jed Edwards and Sam Hughes as all are in the squad for half a game , also a player Sam Wilmott signed from Wide Bay will get a run, they are in the team for the second 25 minute half

All other players are from the junior league, the team selected for the run on in the first half is all local

U15s won 3 tries to 1 in a high standard game

Matts were beaten comfortably 6 tries to 2, Dogs came out firing against an Eels team missing 7 starters and didnt look back. Eels hit back in the last third to score 2 late tries. 5/8 Nick Fonua went down with a fractured eye socket in 4 th minute, and already playing without the expected starting halves, lack of organisation told

As one of the staff said, that's why we play the Dogs in trials, they come out firing , big and aggressive and it tells you where you are. The country players seemed to struggle early with the ferocity and speed of the defence, but improved as they got more game time. Shows the difference between good country levels and Div 1 in the Sydney Comps.

No wonder there is a difference in CRL and Sydney comps...The talent scouts are waiting at the Maternity units to get the country kids - and don't put anything back into development.....

On top of all that SG Ball just won 5 tries - 4. In all honesty there were also a lot of regular starters missing from the Parra team, but as a whole I thought the dogs were unlucky to loose, the dogs where bye far the better team throughout the 3 periods of play. The big dogs forwards died late in the 3rd period giving Parra an opportunity to play some footy & score some late tries. In my opinion I thought the No: 1 in the first team from NZ was outstanding playing at full back & scoring a full length of the field try possessing a lot of speed. Also though PJ was outstanding at lock

Hi Pete

They are good players who are still living at home who won't be involved in rep training until the New Year and have been left to play in their own district until turning 16.

My observation waa that they obviously bend the line ffrom the get go in country reps, but the speed, overall size and ferocity this early in the season from city reps set them back until they settled down. It's a bit like going to high school, they will be learning that things are different . They stood up well in the last third given this was their first hit out against city level competition

They can't develop players at their home locations without wasting plenty of money. If they sign the most talented kids and bring them into their own systems they at least get better bang for their money and only waste a little bit.

I agree with some of what your saying, but each individual should be treated as that. Yes all the country kids were off the pace today for what ever reason, but there are players from the country in the past that blow that theory out of the water, not only were they up to speed when they came down, these players were above the city kids standard. Players like Ethan Parry, Kyle Schneider, Jesse Cronin. These 3 players have set the bar high for the Country kids

I also thought the African #6 was really good. Put in some smart kicks when he was in the halves and put a few of the players into some small gaps. He then moved out to the wing where he showed his athleticism a couple of times. I was told his name by Cronin but there's absolutely no way I'm going to attempt to spell it.

PJ ran hard every single time he got the ball and defended well too. On every run he skittled at least 1 player. And it seems as if he's started to bring in an offload into his game, was really good to see.

Sure, in the Matts, the forward from Wide Bay , Sam Wilmot, performs the best of the 3. Hollis ran hard but the Dogs forwards were big and fast, and looked like he took a while to realise what contact he was going to receive in each run. The Eels forwards were certainly big enough, but it took until some changes in the last quarter for them to compete and break even up front

The Dogs took advantage of the 2nd division players and U15s that were given exposure, and scored most of the tries on their edge as they were played wing and centre on one side in each of the first 2 halves and understandably were off the pace. As you said , there was no William Kei, Parry or Schneider on today's showing

Really missed their first choice halves and looks like the so called gun 7 signed from Qld may not make it down as he is recovering from a back injury and the club are not keen to rush him and risk a setback.
