They do have Martin and Sorensen, add in Garner. How is his path not blocked there as well??

I think a lot comes down to how you sell your vision/pathway to these young kids as well.

Penrith can basically sell the fact to any young kid you come here into an elite football program that has results to back it up. We will improve you as a player and down the track if you do the work you will either break through into there side or like a Hopgood get a decent shot somewhere else at a Mature age after doing the hard yards in reggies.

What vision have we have been selling or could sell with pretty average results in this area for a long time. No matter how much we keep talking up our junior pathways been fixed and all rubbish.

We just lost a core group of players that MON & Sarantinos were talking up at the start of the year as the future of the club after winning the SG Ball in 2023.

With Ryles coming in its probably going to take 2-3 years to re-fix our reputation and confidence in managers/young players our pathways will work and we will improve you as a footballer.

The previous regime didn't produce the consistent results that Penrith have under Cleary when it comes to nurturing young talent and bringing them through.

We have been blowing smoke up everyone's pipe when it comes to junior pathways for a while its time the club actually get some results from it.

I didn't say his pathway wasn't blocked at Penrith - I said it was blocked in a similar way to what his path is at Parramatta.

You made the joke that it was Lane and Cartwright blocking him. It isn't. You are basing it on first grade.

Sangalang has predominantly played as a middle forward off the bench and didn't feature in Jersey Flegg after playing SG Ball. The players listed above played Flegg and some came through the same SG Ball side to play Flegg and in the case of Funa-Iuta, NSW Cup.

Disappointing to lose an Australian Schoolboy to the Panthers but in saying that, the Panthers SG Ball and Harold Matthews sides didn't feature in the finals this year and it would be easy to assume that the pathways to Jersey Flegg based on that may be a little easier for him than it is at Parramatta.

We keep hearing don’t worry we have better players than the ones we lose but we never see them make a dent in first grade. Guymer is the only one and then it was off the bench against a ploddy Souths pack.

Just to play devils advocate for a minute, who have we lost recently from our jnrs that have gone on to make a dent in first grade?

Matt Arthur might.
Talagi might.
Gabreal hasn't
Sanders might but also could disappear without trace like so many young halves
The young Canberra middle is pretty good but any better than Moretti or Guymer?

Doorey came back and is plod.

The biggest problem imo is developing the ones we keep properly.

That's why Panthers have all the best prospects.... they literally have no one blocking their pathway to FG. Matt Cameron a true innovator.

JR and his team have some work to do, young players just don't take Parramatta seriously when it comes to a place to make a career for themselves.

Except Sangalang’s team mates who kept him out of the starting side and played Flegg and reserve grade are still at the club.

One of losses are not a big deal but we have apparently lost all 4 of our Australian Schoolboys. They all might turn out to be shit but you have to admit it’s not a good look. This is after losing 3 of our best young players from our SG Ball winning team. Questions have to be asked what the f**k is going on??

There was a suggestion that three were going. Ryda Talagi and Lincoln Fletcher are both still with Parramatta for next year. Sangalang is confirmed as gone. Coinakis is rumoured to have gone however there is as yet no confirmation.

The oldest forwards from that SG Ball team are only 20 this year. How many of them would you expect to have played first grade by now?
