Can't believe Squeels fans......

You lot should be more p1ssed then anyone esle.

You had the opputunity to see one of the great names of your club play
for our country.

All the hard work he has put in, all the hard work your club has out into him.

Slap in the face to Parra supporters IMO.

we'll see Hayne, Hindmarsh, Inu, Moi Moi play for both teams. why should we be worried? Eric was never going to be picked and everyone knows about the history between Eric and Stuart.

What's wrong with him? What kind of f**king idiot turns their nose up at rep footy? What a complete f**king cat.

Terry Lamb for starters - ruled himself out of the 1982 Kangaroo Tour as he had intended to get married and was told by officialdom he would never play for Australia. Funnily enough made the 1986 KT and played every game.

As for turning his nose up at it why does that make him a cat? If he doesn't feel the need to have to play rep football to define his career why stop someone else from being there?

Rather him say point blank he doesn't want to play rather than change his mind half a dozen times.

Provided he plays to his potential for us I don't see the issue.

why the hell is this even a big deal?? who says he HAS to play rep footy?? perhaps he doesnt give two sh*ts about play for australia?? is there something wrong with that??

his main priority is parramatta. they pay his wages. as far as i know hes been turning up to club training fine. Rep duties are a bonus for the player... people in here seem to think players have a requirement to play rep football?? what rubbish...

Why?

I couldn't care less if he never plays rep footy again. I want to see him win a Premiership for Parra. I think that is what Eric would love too - to celebrate a Premiership with his mates.

In fact, under normal circumstances, I'd be quite happy to see Hindy retire from rep footy to concentrate on the same goal (he is contemplating when to do it), but I do think he deserves to be at the Centenary World Cup.

f**k Rep Footy.

Could you imagine a NZ rugby union player being picked to train with the All Blacks and not showing up?

One could argue that the points mentioned above are the one of the reasons why International Rugby League is still inferior to State of Origin.

Mate.. it's representing your country! I would give my left nut to have the talent to even be a remote chance to represent my country at anything.

So you endeavour to play for your country...... Eric wants to play music. You have a different passion to what he does. Doesn't make him a cat.

Well it is subjective. Makes him a cat to me ;-)

I think it just makes you a hypocrite..... you strive to acheive something as does he, just in different areas of endeavour.

Agreed that he should have at least informed the Coaches that he did not wish to attend. How long ago was he selected for the train on squad? Because it didn't seem like a decision he had to ponder about - maybe he should have told them straight away.

Being a laid character is good and all but show a little respect, it's a rep jersey and a compliment to Eric that he is up there with the best.

To suggest that he did not show up because he wasn't going to make it in anyway is a poor excuse. He's got skill but I think perhaps it's his attitude that is costing him his chances - not his talent.

But if he had informed the coaches then there should be no issue. Grothe doesn't want to play, well then he doesnt have to. Don't choose him for a rep spot or a train on squad - give another guy who wants to be there a chance.

Ahh yes but you haven't been there and done it already.

It's easy for us to sit back and say what we'd do to play for Aus, but it's not as simple as putting on the jersey. I've read where some players have said that they hated the way they were treated like robots in rep camps. Eric has done it and doesn't seem to care if he does it again.

I think the bigger scandal is the fact that he was selected in the train on squad at all when he'd be lucky to be in the top 30 wingers in the NRL.

He'd definitely be ahead of the seven or eight your mob used this year.....

What is it with Raiders fans and their anti-Parra agenda? It's quite strange.

Is it because their calls that the 94 Raiders are the best team ever is easily defeated by the 81-2-3 Eels?

I don't get it.

I think a lot of it has to do with the cry-baby antics of Eels fans, such as "Why wasn't Weyman sent off?1?!?1?1111?!!!!!!1111!!!11" after the game earlier this year. Then again, it could be that it's just me you're referring to, as I cannot stand the players at the club, including the most overrated man to ever lace on a boot, Nathan "the grubbiest man in league" Hindmarsh.

Other players in your team are similarly overrated just because they play for Parramatta, Grothe being chief amongst them.

Oh and that '94 Raiders team would have the Eels for breakfast.
