    Good discussion gents.
But wasn't due process followed by the NRL giving the club the chance to respond, before determining final decision and/or penalties?
That's kind of where my thinking is, any move for an EGM should take place/be supported only after the final decision is hanfed down. Otherwise it's just a tad premature imo?

Indeed, but would it not have been prudent to not go public with the possible penalties before allowing the club to respond.

What is the point of having some one from OLGA on the board if the board does not administer the PLC ?

I agree with this, which is why I am supporting Losco's EGM proposal.

Yes that was what the case was about, and Yes that was the ruling, and as I have said the I am glad the club explored this, and it is something I would expect the clubs as a whole to work on changing in future negotiations. The clubs are not employees of the NRL they are appointed by the members of their club to run their club, an outside body interfering with those appointments, stinks to my mind.

Not everyone knows that, I would say your average punter doesn't know that in detail unless they are Parramatta supporters and still I would say about 25% of those still feel like it was a final statement.

Still a lot of denial in here by certain posters.

i hate Greenburg and think the NRL are useless but it still doesn't make what the club did right.

Hopefully we finally get our medicine and we can move on from this and build for the future behind an excellent young coach and the core of a strong improving side.

The best way forward is Chris Losco's proposal, hopefully it gets up and we can get finally get a board based on merit and what you can bring to the club no how many tries you scored or GF's you have won for the club.

I'll support Losco's proposal, as soon as an adverse penalty is handed down/confirmed - not before.

Are the NRL's findings due out tomorrow or Friday? Wish they'd just get on with it and put us all out of our misery...

There seems to be 3 groups:

    1) Andrew Eagleston lead group of which it was previously reported as Moss being a part.
    2) Chris Losco and his eelsegm.com site.
    3) Bill Moss, David Ciantar & Brendon Noney. All seem like successful businessmen.

    Not so sure Stagger.
Doesn't paint Ms. Gadiel in the best light if she is threatening to sue members.

On a totally unrelated note, I hear the Losco petition has enough numbers and is going to the club this morning.
    Let the games begin.

As I understand it from reading the constitution yes. Must be held within 2 months and called within 21 days from whenever the 100+ signatures are lodged with the club.

I think it is always the CEO/Secretary of the Club that calls it so, yes.

My understanding is that Chris Losco today lodged more than 100 signatures for a motion to organise a General Meeting with the Parramatta Leagues Club. The Leagues Club is currently reviewing these petitions and then they will be reviewed by the Club's auditors.

If 100 signatures are deemed to come from valid three year members of the PLC, the board is required to announce the date of the General Meeting by July 15th and the meeting needs to be held by August 24th.

Chris’s proposal is for six directors to immediately stand down, and for Geoff Gerard to form a committee which may include a third party firm with expertise in identifying and selecting directors, Clubs NSW and the NRL. A PLC and a PNRL board will be selected, with four directors sitting on both boards. The remaining directors will be specialists in their fields of either football administration or leagues club administration. The new boards would be in place until at least the next election.

Apparently in his letter to the Club Chris included a request for the Club to work with him and others to define a process of selection that is transparent, simple and one which can be understood clearly on the night of the General Meeting.

The board will probably place the petition under intense legal scrutiny and to use semantics, procedures and anything else at their disposal to avoid their day answering to the members. Whatever the outcome, I recommend that members not rest until this board has been replaced by a team that has been independently verified, selected on their independent skill set and capabilities.

The merit selection is logical. Only people with an agenda or those who think they will fail against stronger individuals will argue it. Anyone who is considering the formation of a traditional 'ticket' should try and work with Chris on the merit initiative. If people are as good as they want members to believe they are, they should succeed in a merit process and start their tenure on the board knowing that the membership understands they are the best people for the job.

My understanding is this is the first member forced General Meeting in recent history of the PLC. People have spoken about a GM for years, spoken about collecting signatures and forcing change. It is great to see PLC members doing something about the state of our great club and trying to get the best possible board to lead our club.
