The Raiders don't own their Stadium and don't pay to play there. In fact, the people who pay the Raiders (and Brumbies) to play at the Stadium rent the Stadium off somone else and still pay them to play there.

Well depending on price I'd imagine most clubs would prefer to play there..Although there isn't any public transport to the ground is there?

Seriously though, the ACT Govt would be better off selling off Bruce stadium to property developers, and using the income investing in an inner city stadium. Imagine the benefit to the economy then?

Parramatta is very well served by public transport.
Unless you want a railway station right outside the front door.

Seriously though, the ACT Govt would be better off selling off Bruce stadium to property developers, and using the income investing in an inner city stadium. Imagine the benefit to the economy then?

They don't actually own the Stadium. Its owned by the Commonwealth Government (AIS) and ACT Government rents it off them for $300k or so a year.

However, the Commonwealth is looking to sell.

Incidentally the ACT Government pays GWS more to play 3 or 4 games

A 10 minute walk through the centre of the city past all the best food/dining options.
There's also a shuttle bus on game days.
Transport is good.

Hmm I recall the Luke Foley demanded a business case be released and it showed that it would be used by Eels Tigers Dogs and WSW. Plus the Waratahs from time to time.

I don’t think they were serious and I took it as fudging the numbers to get the project over the line.
