I think the people who don’t want the stadium are those in regional areas and those who give no f**ks about sport. The latter group however never question a $billion budget to tart up the opera house or the new wing of the art gallery.

Understood. Merkins aren’t consistent.

I’m sure some people who support the stadium investment think the investment in the art gallery or the opera house is a waste of time and money but they would probably be in the minority.

I imagine there is more overall community support for investment in art galleries, opera houses, museums and the like.

If there wasn’t, I am sure there would be politicians trying to benefit in some way, just like shit nuts is trying to do with the stadiums.
