A lot more emphasis on Waratahs, tigers wanderers than the eels while out at stadium this morning.
Why I don’t know why when more blue and gold supporters are around the ground.
West’s Tigers are the barstards of NRL. No real team, No real ground, No identity, yet want a slice of the western sydney pie. Eels need to push harder on their marketing for this stadium to maintain or create a home advantage fortress.
Otherwise will become another ANZ and never feel at home

I have done the tour - My thoughts:

- Compared to what we had it is much better but I think it is overjoyed. Finally a stadium is getting what most around the world already have
- The top level is very steep and the steps are narrow. There will be people falling coming down or going up.
- Food prices actually look reasonable
- There are plenty of bad seats- this rubbish about every seat is a good one is just wrong
- You will have to stand up in your seats to let people pass, the legroom to the row in front is minimal
- The plastic seats look like the will snap easily.

Unfortunately for us, we didn’t pay for the stadium. So we have to be realistic that at the flick of a switch the stadium will adopt an Eels, Wanderers, Waratahs ot WTigers theme.

Eels are obviously the anchor tenant, however that mantle may very well be shared with WSW if their crowd numbers improve. I personally hope they do because both teams being super competitive at home with crazy merkin fans is what the city needs.

I dont care about the Tahs or Tigers. It will never feel like a home game for them.

I think the Leagues Club will be a pretty big winner in this. When leaving there was quite a long line-up to sign up for memberships. $25 to park there if you don't spend $15 at the LC, $8 if you're a member.

I got stung $25 as club membership card wasn’t working.

For those that may know, stadium built by state government money, but is the land owned by parramatta council (govt owned again) or Parra leagues (or. Leased by LC)?

Tigers CEO is kidding himself...

Turf war: Tigers tell Eels 'new stadium isn't yours alone'
CHRISTIAN NICOLUSSI APRIL 13, 2019Wests Tigers have taken aim at fellow Bankwest Stadium tenants Parramatta on the eve of the venue's opening, saying the $300 million facility belongs to the people of western Sydney, not just the Eels.

“The last time I checked the stadium was built by the state government for the people of western Sydney, including their teams the Wests Tigers, Bulldogs, Western Sydney Wanderers ... and Parra”, acting Tigers chief executive Simon Cook said after being forced to digest a week-long media blitz about the Eels' new stadium. “We know Parramatta have been nomads the last two years, but it's disappointing the way they have carried on about the new stadium being theirs.”
“We can't wait to play our five games at our new home, including next Monday when it's hosted by our co-tenants. What a wonderful sight it will be when our new ground is lit up in black, white and orange for our first home game against Canberra in round 13.”

The Tigers have committed to playing four games at the venue this year, as well four next year. They remain committed to playing games at their spiritual homes in Leichhardt and Campbelltown.

It is understood the joint venture is inspecting clubhouses in the Parramatta area so their supporters will not have to celebrate at the neighbouring Parramatta Leagues Club.

Eels chief executive Bernie Gurr proudly declared Bankwest Stadium Parramatta turf and made no apologies for being excited about the countdown to the historic first game on Easter Monday.

“That's been our spiritual precinct and home ground since 1947, from Cumberland Oval, Pirtek Stadium to Western Sydney Stadium to now Bankwest Stadium”, Gurr said. “It's literally on the doorstep of our leagues club and it's in the middle of Parramatta.”

“The reality is we've made a commitment to play 11 games a year for 15 years and with another 10-year option, which is effectively a 25-year commitment and 275 games.”

“The good ol' Tigers have made a four-game commitment”

The Tigers are expected to be given access to Bankwest Stadium in the lead-up to the sold-out Easter Monday clash.

Canterbury have also committed to play one NRL game at the venue this year.

What an absolute pelican. The West Tigers are the definition of nomads with their rotating “home” ground. We’ve been anchored at that shit hole ANZ the last two years and have probably played more games there than those muppets.

I hope we turn the hot water off in the away change rooms on
Monday afternoon!!

How many people would a person have to squeeze past to get to the middle seat in a row? Are the seats comfortable and do you think they will last long? From the images I have seen, some of the furniture looked cheap. I'm glad that they're not ripping everybody off with food pricing.

You didn't think the finish was a bit rough?
Thing on piss all over place, paint overspray as well.
Sure just cosmetic but f**k some poor trades work in my opinion.

Na. I like shiny new sparkly stuff. Found my seat. Good view and it worked.
Found the toilets. They worked.
Found the bar. Tick.
Field was great although someone will be smashed into the side fence. Shit its close to the field.
From sitting on planks and getting splinters 55 years ago at Cumberland, I reckon this is a bit of all right mate.
