And don’t pretend we don’t all know what year you were born. Do you even classify as a boomer?I'm no millennial! Boomer all the way!

A criticism I do have of it, and it’s not isolated the same thing happened particularly with the NBN and I know particularly at Castle Towers, is the lack in forethought in going “let’s redo this road/footpath” and then 1-2 years later they have to dig it up for a new train and can’t afford/be bothered to properly replace the improved road/footpath they had put inNorthern end of Church street.

I knew you'd be on the right track.Unfortunately, Phil had no clue with his directions, when he said it continues to Parramatta Square and turns right and heads to Westmead. It actually turns left at Macquarie and heads to Carlingford.
The section where he started the video heads north up Church street and then to Westmead, so he was completely out of whack.
Also, I'm not sure how long ago the video was made but shite loads more has been done than what he showed.
Na it’s 100% the principal contractors (also Transport somewhat in this case) not the ASPs. Of course the service providers aren’t going to go over and beyond on rectification if the cost is just coming out of their back pocket for the principal to profit off.True. The same thing has happened in parts with the City/SE Light Rail. That is the cheap arsed service providers not doing their jobs properly.
I suppose I can accept that a bit here and there but it's not a good look, I agree. Luckily, it's not huge common practice.
The good thing about the Parra LR is that Church st and Eat st in particular is going to become a beautiful tree lined boulevard. It's also going to be a wire free zone, so none of those ugly overhead wires through the centre of Parra. The transformation of the similar section of George st in the city has been incredible.
I’m waiting for you to tell me when they started construction, “boomer”I knew you'd be on the right track.
June last year, but it's not supposed to be finished until 2023, which could mean January but in reality will be December.I’m waiting for you to tell me when they started construction, “boomer”
So your problem is with how long it’ll take overall not with it’s pace to date? Because on pace to date, I can guarantee if you ask anyone in the game they’ll tell you just how balls to the wall frenetic it has been.June last year, but it's not supposed to be finished until 2023, which could mean January but in reality will be December.
I think that three years of disruption to streets in a business district is something worth commenting on. Not arguing, just an observation. So your problem is with how long it’ll take overall not with it’s pace to date? Fair enough. Time will tell. The disruption to the streets in the CBD won't be for 3 years. That's why they are going hard early on in this section, so they can get things back to as normal as possible asap.
The amount of work achieved in such a short time in fairly impressive.
And your observation is massively flawed. Why complain that something is being disrupted for 3 years by massive construction when it’s barely been 6 months? And the work that was done in that time was the “messy” work. Plus in that 6 months the businesses “fortunately” would’ve had to deal with Corona anyway.I think that three years of disruption to streets in a business district is something worth commenting on. Let’s put it into perspective.Fair enough. Time will tell.
There has been a lot of construction activity up and down the length of Church St well before the light rail project started. My thoughts were only for the businesses who have had to deal with the disruption, which must feel like eternity to them. I know I wouldn't be happy with ongoing works in my street for that amount of time. At the end of the day, Parramatta will grow and benefit from all the works, which is the intended result. Geez, a boomer can't even have a whinge anymore. And your observation is massively flawed. I don’t know if the rail works will utilise the same barriers or not, but they won’t be working in 6 metre plus pits or with all the utilities open.
And if the utilities work was any indication, I reckon rails pretty much done some time this year/early next year? From there it’ll be rectification work and that’ll mean those construction areas start opening up and start looking like the final product
Can you lay claim to boomer if you weren’t born in earshot of WW2?There has been a lot of construction activity up and down the length of Church St well before the light rail project started. What? A boomer is a person born between 1946 and 1964.Can you lay claim to boomer if you weren’t born in earshot of WW2?
What a dumb range. Someone born in 64 could be the child of someone born during the warWhat? A boomer is a person born between 1946 and 1964.
Yeah, nah....or something like that. Good luck going forward, sir. What a dumb range. Someone born in 64 could be the child of someone born during the war
